I'm allergic to tree pollen so get it early but luckily not to grass so I hate spring but can enjoy summer. I get itchy eyes, nose and throat and eyes and throat can get sore. Get bunged up and my sinuses and ears start to hurt ugh!
I'm taking an antihistamine. Am going to start washing my face and nose when I get in and have put Vaseline just inside nostrils. Any other tips would be most appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What type on antihistamine are you taking? Some work better than others. I live in like the worst area in US for allergies...Ohio Valley! I know Claritin doesn't do well for me but Allegra is better. I take Singulair and use Flonase every day and it helps me. A lot of people I know take a spoonful of local raw honey everyday to help...

I despise spring.
Biggest problem for me is that it also exacerbates my asthma so I also end up spending a great deal of time taking steroids for that. Gotta say they do seem to help the hay fever. I don't know if you have them in the US but I used to get these injections shortly before spring they were a great help, although now my hay fever has gotten worse and they no longer have quite the effect. Failing that I shut all the windows and doors and cower inside lol |

Hey there. I agree that some antihistamines work better than the others. I have reaaally bad allergies and recurrent hayfever, chronic sinusitis, etc. Here's what I found works best for me and may be a good starting point for you.
* I use dye free Benedryl for welts and Zyrtec for daily use. Claritan doesn't seem to have much affect on me. I can't take Singulair but it's supposedly really good too. * Flonase is a good nasal steroid but Nasonex is a little stronger (just line your nasal passages with vaseline and you should be okay). * Honey works well but it is hard to find. You need to buy locally grown honey so that your body can be introduced to the local allergens and build a defense against them. * I've noticed that sleeping with a fan on helps me (people say it causes the dust to move around but I actually think it helps because it keeps the dust from settling). It's now the only way I can be in my room. There are also some tea's and things at your local health food store/organic store that should help you with a little relief as well. Good luck!

Yes iI meant local raw honey...check farmers markets. I live in the country so a lot of people keep bees around and its easy to find.
hot peppermint tea is really good for keeping your nasal passages clear....sweeten it with honey....YUMMY! |

Thanks so much guys for all your sugestions. I would deff have to find a farmers market but might be difficult as I live in London (concrete jungle) lol
I take citrizine and sometimes top it up with Piriton. I have thought about the injection and it's deff something I'll be discussing with my GP. I sometimes get allergy induced asthma and have an inhaler for that but that seems to have calmed down this year. It's more the itchy sore throat and blocked ears ugh!!
