I have it too Fuzz!!!!!! Nerve damage from a broken jaw years ago has resulted in tinnitus and sometimes it's outta control.

My semi-short-term-not-really-solutions:

NO Caffeine
NO Drug/alcohol (dang)
SLEEP!!!!! Knowck myself out with something to sleep. They actually gave me xanax for it.........hmmm

Thanks to all.

It's just so loud and aggravating righ tnow.

Tallulah, maybe it's worse because I have been having more coffee lately. I will go to decaf only and see. I don't drink do drugs, have some sleep problems, also have Xanax but don't like to take it. I'm hearing impaired and it isn't uncommon to have tinnitis along with that.

Sometmes it feels like torture, the constant buzzing and ringng. tinnitis tinnitis

I am hearing impaired, one ear from normal loss of sounds, the other ear from tinnitus...both caused by the head injury accident that disabled me....and my losing my hearing protection near turbine engines.... and that the accident also dislocated my TMJs.

Hope things settle for you soon...it can drive you to the edge for sure!

Geez, echoes I replied to fuzzy and meant that to be you! Thinking and typing too fast i guess, but I know you know what I meant---duh I'm slow sometimes..

but yea, caffeine is a HUGE activator of my tinnitus...probably more than anything, then sleep next. Try cutting back, just having less, you don't have to cut it out completely..

The xanax is great for nights when the tinnitus keeps me from catching zzzzzs.

Thanks Sky

Mines from the hearing impairment and from being hit. Most of the time I can deal with it but sometimes... just adds to the nerves.

Hugging my buddy (((ECHOES))).

I am actually having this same problem!!! Have to go see an ENT on 3/08 for this plus vertigo. I think they want to rule out Meniere's. Have you seen an ENT before for yours?

Hi RF!

Yes I have. The one I saw said it goes with the territory of being hearing impaired. Aggravating... can't hear what I want to hear and then the tinnitiis interferes on top of it!

Actually, I do have Meniere's. tinnitis I can get vertigo on a shag carpet! hehehe... The accident where I was disabled occurred in a very loud turbine engine area... and the incident included head trauma that also knocked my hearing protection off, which is why I have hearing loss from both problems. (The hit on the head, and the thunderous sound tinnitis )

Yes, some days I can't hear a thing. I learned ASL because of my need to communicate when that happens...if.. but I usually can't go anywhere because that's also when the vertigo won't let me move my head.

But one doesn't have to totally give in to it. I hope everyone keeps seeking their comfort levels and work to find the foods and drinks and activities that provoke it. TC!

I became very frustrated with my ENT. Soooo many tests to rule out everything and cat scans and spinning dizzying tests.......only to find nothing.

I told them I broke my jaw at age 7 and I KNOW that I have damage from that resulting in my "sounds" and vibrations in my inner ear. And that's why I hear things......Still, just a DX of tinnitus and a handful of xanax..........and no relief at all. And, I have so many more years of this ahead...

((to all of you))

It stinks. I hate it. I wish someone could get rid of it for all of us.
