You poor thing. That is a vicious cycle.

I'm sucking down coffee as we speak. It elevates my mood away from anxiety. But then I'll end up with horrible anxiety if I have insomnia and lay there thinking about my problems.....

Gotta find that delicate balance...... Bad cycle

I just finished a cup myself.

The coffee doesn't directly cause anxiety.

The IBS does, if I'm not at home. You know... like if I drink coffee at work and then my IBS starts.... so I get kinda anxious because who wants to be crapping their brains out at work? So then that causes more IBS...

BLAH!

(As I tell my husband that I'm getting nachos at the Phillies game today, lol)

UGH!

Well I don't have IBS (I don't think), but occasionally if I'm super-stressed I'll end up with diarrhea. I'll go home from work in that case though. Must be alone under those circumstances....!

Coffee is one of the biggest triggers of IBS. Try drinking soda if you need your caffiene. I know how horrible it is to have IBS.

Hugs,

Jan

I've swtiched to non-caffinated everything because I find it to be a trigger for my IBS itself - I still need a coffee fix every now and then, because I love the taste - but I drink de-caf because it's no-where near as bad as drinking the regular stuff.

Maybe it's worth you all trying nescafes Half-caf coffee, cos then you'll still get a pick-me up, but your IBS won't be as bad.....
It's an idea of sorts!

You can always try an excedrin in emergencies when your head feels like it's going to explode. It's not the healthiest thing, but it works.

Also, when you are having a cycle, drink lot of Propel fitness water. It's much better than other sports drinks because it has next to no sugar. Sugar sets IBS off, also.
