{{{{{{{{{{{WW}}}}}}}}}}}} Heavens!! Don't get me going on insurance companies!!! Oh, no! Now what?? Right now, I've got Blue Shield which is our primary ins. When I got my disability, I was given the State ins. My primary insurance is denying EVERYTHING that comes across their desks. They say I'm not allowed to have two insurances, yet my husband pays $150 a month for the two of us! Who are they to tell me I can't have an insurance that will pick up what they don't pay for??? ARGH!

I can't get my teeth fixed because their dentists won't bill the State insurance. The primary ins. pays a good amount, but I would still have $2000 left after they pay. Where in hell am I supposed to get $2000??? Oh, no! Now what?? So... I might as well not have any insurance at all because the State insurance won't pay if I have a primary ins!!! Oh, no! Now what??

Would you believe I've been waiting to get my electric chair fixed since the middle of Aug. because the insurances can't get their acts together?!?!?! Oh, no! Now what?? I may have to dump the primary insurance.

The biopsy of my thyroid is tomorrow morning at 8 am. I'm NOT looking forward to it! Oh, no! Now what?? Oh, no! Now what??

Then I get all of my teeth pulled a week from tomorrow!! Oh, no! Now what?? Oh, no! Now what?? I'll sure be happy to have some teeth to chew with and not be afraid to smile but "getting from here to there is the killer"!! Oh, no! Now what?? I feel so invaded, so violated when someone gets into my mouth like that!! Oh, no! Now what??

(((hugs)))

Think good thoughts. Think you are looking forward to this... you do want to be done with this... you want it to be easy ... Oh, no! Now what??

As for having your teeth pulled, yes you are correct, getting from here to there will be tough. My (ex) BIL had this done years ago and he was picking bone shards from his mouth for months Oh, no! Now what?? I sure hope they have a good way to do it now.

Got lots of icecream around? Soup? Oatmeal?

Make sure they give you stuff for pain... get script BEFORE the procedure, have them call it into pharmacy so you can pick it up on way home without waiting?

And, make sure they give you something for nausea... just in case. Oh, no! Now what??

Oh, no! Now what?? Sending good prayers for you for the biopsy my friend. Oh, no! Now what??

You bet I want it to be easy! Oh, no! Now what?? I hope it is.

Thanks for reminding me about soft foods. I probably wouldn't have thought about it till afterwards and I got hungry. Oh, no! Now what??

As for the nausea, is that before or after getting my teeth pulled? Oh, no! Now what??

I already have Tramadol for pain; 50 mg. That should be strong enough, right? Oh, no! Now what?? WWWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Yes! I want this! I want this! I want this! Oh, no! Now what??

I had a tooth pulled a year or two ago and it was a piece of cake (figuratively speaking Oh, no! Now what??) -- he loaded me up with anesthetic and then just wiggled it out, no problems and definitely no bone shards! It seemed relatively humane....

Definitely get some soft foods, though -- Jello, yogurt, etc. Applesauce is always good too.

Had the biopsy! When I finally got to the right place, it wasn't any big deal except that the dr's assitant was "push" happy... or she had a really heavy hand. Oh, no! Now what?? The tech that did the initial ultrasound didn't push down on my throat nearly as much!

It took about half an hour and the dr was very gently and kind. Every time he stuck me with the needle with the anesthetic, he would say "Ok, a pinch and a burn". LOL I barely felt the first "pinch" and no burn at all! Oh, no! Now what??

The whole thing was a damn circus, though. Jerry took the paperwork from me and gave it to "admitting" who sent him to the lab where they took a gallon of blood. "They"? A student that was just learning how to take blood! Oh, no! Now what?? He had a tech standing next to him telling him what to do. He was so nervous he was shaking. Oh, no! Now what?? A couple of times I told him to just relax because it didn't hurt. The dang needle was in me for at least 10 minutes because he'd aim the needle the wrong way and then he contaminated one of the viles. SHEEEEESH!! Luckily it didn't hurt.

THEN I found out I should have had the biopsy FIRST. Either Jerry didn't tell admitting about the appt for the biopsy or someone had their head "where the sun don't shine"!! Oh, no! Now what?? Jerry thought it was all so hilarious! Oh, no! Now what?? I sure didn't!!!

Anyway, Jerry took me out to breakfast after it was all over. I've got this cute little bandage on my neck that looks like a star. LOL Then I have a swollen, purple mark where Dracula sucked my blood! Oh, no! Now what?? I'm going to live, though. LOL

Ok, you guys!! No horror stories, ok? I don't care if it's Halloween! Oh, no! Now what??

Be, I'm going to try to keep two of my molars on the bottom so I don't have to have a full bottom. Last time I saw the dentist, he didn't think he could save two good teeth. Oh, no! Now what?? I still think he can!

Ok, no more shards!!! Oh, no! Now what?? Oh, no! Now what?? No puking, no drooling, nothing like that, ok? PLEASE?? The intrusion into my mouth is bad enough!! Oh, no! Now what?? Think of something positive to say about THAT!

I can relate to that poor student!!! We had to practice on each other first but doing it on a REAL PATIENT for the first time is very nerve-racking and you shake sooooo much that you will probably miss. But you soon don't worry about hurting people with needles.
But it does really help if the patient is fine and doesn't mind you stuffing up a bit.

You should be able to take them back and have them fixed for nothing! Obviously, the dentist didn't do the best job ever. I thought they kept adjusting them until they fit right! Oh, no! Now what??

wow, tomi. getting your teeth taken out??? that's a lot on top of everything else. i know. hey, i had 3 baby teeth pulled out because we had waited forever for them to come out. and they didn't and i had braced, so out they went. i was loaded with anesthetic and the dentist practically had to wrestle with them to get them pulled out. lol. it didn't hurt one bit, though. no horror story here. but, i hope it all goes well for you. as sky said, stock up on the "softies" (soft foods, etc). wishing you the best.
