I find that when I eat junk food, white bread, sugar, and sometimes dairy - like cheese, my mood worsens. When I eat healthfully (mainly vegetables and fruits, grains), I have more energy and feel, well, not bad. I don't find myself feeling GREAT. But I don't feel badly as when I eat junk food, white bread, and cheese. Anyone else? I'm kind of fuzzy on meat. I'm not sure if it makes me feel badly or not. I think eating fish makes me feel good. And I have heard negative things about meat health-wise.

I haven't noticed this very much but in recent years I haven't eaten much junk food. I do find not eating for long periods worsens my mood. And fish helps (but maybe this is because I'm a bear

The less processed food you eat, the better you'll feel. I made homemade lentil soup and homemade chicken soup, and even grated carrots over spinach for a salad that I added cooked chicken to, and felt so much better than when I bought processed cheese and meat and slapped those between two slices of processed bread. I won't even eat prepackaged oatmeal anymore. My mood takes a nosedive if I eat processed food, and it's been really difficult for me to eat food from food pantries and food shelfs that are canned or frozen or nearly spoiled, while I go through this financial crisis. I miss the time when I could afford to buy fresh produce and cook what I wanted, when I wanted.
Real food is better for your mood and your digestive system. Processed food has so many chemicals and additives in it, and its GMO too. |

I agree with everything said. Though I need protein too. As long as I remember to eat and eat healthy I feel much better.
When my kids were little I found that my daughter had what seemed like mood swings. She would go from happy child to monster who didn't want me to touch her but didn't want me to go to far away from her. It was awful. When she was three I got it down to over processed food and red food die. Got rid of that stuff and got the nice kid back. She is able to eat red food die now and tolerate processed food but she's 27 now. For the most part she cooks real food. She was saying the other day that she is getting tired of reading articles about budgeting and saving that begin with cook real food and take your lunch to work. She is already doing that. |

Yes I noticed a difference as well to the foods I've eaten and I try to stay away from fast food and processed food. I rather eat food that's fresh and clean. Fish is very good for you. Also try drinking lots of water and adding lemon to your water helps from forming kidney stones. I got kidney stones last year and my doctor told me to add that to my water. Once I wake up, I drink a tall glass of water and add lemon. When I eat a snack, I enjoy eating hummis with whole wheat tortilla chips or crackers.
Just make a list for yourself on foods you'd like to try and what foods you'd like to stay away from. ![]() |

I usually eat homecooked and much of it is called healthy. The problem? I feel better mentally and physically when I eat junk like burgers and pizza... How is that even possible??
Now I can't eat much junk since I don't particularly like it, when I've eaten it it has been more because of circumstances. Yea, and I even lost 5 pounds when I ate junk. It makes me angry!! Haha. It is like I'm being punished for eating healthily.
