I guess I was way to tired when I went to bed last night. About 2 this morning I was dreaming I was going to the bathroom and woke up to a puddle in the bed. I wet the bed. I haven't done that since elementary school and I was still drowsy got up finished in the bathroom pulled the sheets off the bed and went back to sleep.

Have any of you ever done this? How do you prevent it? I am worried I will do it again.

This happened to me two or three times in my adult life and let me tell you it was so embarrassing to me, but no one found out about it - not even my husband.

All has been well - for the last seven years or so.

ive done the same thing.....im 20 ...these things happen....im not too worried ....because its just your body needs to do something functional while its shut down....the two cross and sometimes since your mind doesnt wake up enough in time your body takes care of the function....the reason why children wet the bed are because they are still learning how to control their bladders...thats how we develop bathroom scheduales...i always go to the bathroom before sleeping and very rarely do i need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night...but if i mess up my scheduale (drink a bottle of water and dont pee before bed) then my body gets off guard and there are times where i wet the bed....

I did it once at my girlfriend's house when I was spending the night when we were college-age I think or slightly later. It felt very embarrassing.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you do it more often.

Yeah I think like the others have said it's that your brain was too addled by sleep to wake up in time. Especially since you were dreaming about it, it meant your physical state was intruding on your mind. I wouldn't worry unless it happens for no apparent cause or if it happens in the day too.

It has happened a couple of times since then and I called my doc so I get to go pee in a cup in the morning. Woohoo! NOT!! I did wake myself up last night before hand though so I was glad because I haven't made my bed since the last time and that would have been bad.

I'm wondering if it isn't psychological though and will mention it to my doc when I see him next week.

I am glad you posted this. This has happened to me recently three times. I was not dreaming though. My husband has mentioned that when it happens I start shaking real bad in my sleep. Turned out I was having seizures. I am glad I am not alone. If you were dreaming I bet your brain wires got crissed crossed. I would still talk to a doc because there are sleep disorders and stuff that cause this.
