Friends,

It seems to me that you are supposed to have a big breakfast to kick-start your metabolism. However, I'm not hungry in the morning.

Do others of you feel this way?

EJ

How about a big brunch :-) My husband makes us breakfast between 10:30-Noon each day. Breakfast is my favorite meal although I like the evening meal's meat a bit more perhaps. I generally don't do lunch, snack the day through until a dinner sort of thing appears. I just had a bagel, for example (though I had a shrimp-like salad for lunch only 2-3 hours ago). I'll probably have an apple here next and something or other I find in the refrigerator or cabinets depending on what I'm hungry for.

Part of having a big breakfast not only "breaks the fast" of not eating for 10-12 hours, but it helps you not eat so much late in the day. Carbohydrates "kick in" and help quelch hunger about 7-8 hours after you eat them. What time of day are you hungry? (So you if you find yourself hungry at 10pm, try eating carbs about 2 pm, assuming you have eaten at least 3 meals during the day.)

I am definately not hungry in the morning. Part of this may be due to colitis being worse in the mornings, I don't know.

You might want to drink a high protein Ensure in the morning. I did this morning and honestly could feel the difference in a very short amount of time.

Hugs,

Jan

While I am not that hungry in the morning - I do try to eat a little something and drink a bottle of cold water to help jump start my body for the day, for the body just went thru a fasting period during over night sleep.

I usually eat a small breakfast and a dinner (snack at night) - but I am not really hungry much through out the day.

Me neither. I'm to busy and focused in the morning to even realize I'm hungry even if I am. To be honest I never even feel hungry in the mornings at all. I believe it's not good though. If I was to make a change in my eating patterns (which are horrible and unhealthy and do need a change), I would eat a small but effective healthy breakfast to start the day with, instead of binging out at night and making up for not eating most of the day...for sure.

I eat when I remember to eat. My Personal Trainer that I wil l start to see says ideally you should eat 5 small meals through the day. 3 actual meals and 2 snacks. She will call me at 10 and at 2 to remind me to eat. I thought that was cool. I will eat carrot sticks, cheese slices, string cheese etc. Something portable as I hopefully start my internship next week.
