I almost can't find any doctors who accept dual eligibile patients anymore (Medicare/Medicaid) and I am really freaking out.

I have an appt somewhere Nov 26, but there are fewer and fewer doctors who want to help poor or disabled ppl.

I am so scared.

I have a severe anxiety problem that is making me have heart pains and (diagnosed in ER) and if no one can help me, I hope it doesn't kill me.

I need therapy and health care.

I can't help it I am disabled.

I need the insurance and I feel like now I don't have any!

Only going to get worse here.

I'm having to cancel my private insurance as the premiums went up (contrary to Mr Obama's promise) so high I can't afford it.

I won't get treatment through the government as Mr Obama told us elderly and disabled to go home and take the little blue pill (euthanasia) instead of the one we need, and let the resources go to those who can contribute to society (the ones who put him back into office, mainly, 18-40 yo.)

Fa---get aboouut it! My only prayer is to die quickly.

Sorry you haven't received any supportive replies on this. One thing I can tell you is that anxiety won't kill you. I'm sure it doesn't add any years to your life and it can be a nightmare but if long term severe anxiety was lethal I'd have already died
Mine is much better real now that I think about it.
I hope yours gets better too. Hang in there... it can get a lot better.

thanks.

I know anxiety itself will not kill me, but the stress of sleep deprivation and it's cumulative effects might make me pretty sick and might damage my nerves.

I need something to calm my mind at night so I can sleep. I have severe insomnia as a result of ptsd and anxiety.

thanks again,

Carol

I hope I make it to my appt on the 26th. It's so early in the AM and my insomnia is still there; that's why I need a doc. At the indigent clinic. G*d.

thanks,

Carol

Curious???? The Federal government think Medicare is a problem and they want to keep cutting it!!!!! they want to keep cutting it!!! And cutting it!!!! If they had their way, we would not even HAVE Medicare or Medicaid! Why don't you google these and see if you can find any more horror stories about poor and disabled being cut more and more. My suggestion. I suggest you do this, instead of questioning my feelings! Thanks.

Excuse me. I am so scared. I am so scared.

Yeah, because Medicare and Medicaid aren't government programs. The government didn't create them to help people or anything, they're just having to pay for them, right? The big bad government is so evil.

Oh wait.

I'm not questioning your feelings Carol. I'm sorry you got that impression.
I'm questioning the statement that Obama is telling the elderly and disabled (or anyone) to go home and commit suicide.
Thanks for this!

You are entitled to question what others post, and you do quite a bit of that. One can find through the internet what is being discussed, but I've given you one link to start you on your way. There's another speech where he says the disabled need to leave the resources to the 18-40 age group since they (the disabled) don't contribute to society. The two speeches were given in a close time frame.

I am questioning and we all should question posts with claims that are outrageous and misleading and frighten people. And are just plain untrue.
And no amount of links to rightwing nut blogs are going to prove your statment is true.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to take 300 mg of Trazadone to sleep. My new psychiatrist took me off it. Now I take a 1mg of klonapin and often have to take a tylenol pm. I don't see what the issue is with Trazadone.

Update:

I found only ONE doctor who will take me and cannot get an appt until Jan 21!

My new primary care was okay, but I have only enough klonopin for a month.

Plain untrue?

Ppl don't have to completely take my stuff at face value.

The truth is *it is nearly impossible to find a doctor who accepts Medicare and Medicaid where I live!

I don't want to scare anyone; I want ppl to wake up.

Things are hard. I cannot find a pdoc! If you don't believe me, fine!

I feel very invalidated by your last post.

Carol

It wasn't meant to make you feel invalidated or to offend you. I was only making it clear that Obama is not telling the elderly and disabled (or anyone) to go home and commit suicide. I honestly do care that you can't find the medical care that you need and deserve. I don't understand why San Diego would be any different than where I live but it seems to be lacking. I know someone here in the same situation as you regarding government health care. She is being treated for a neurological condition and she seems to be getting very good care. Maybe Medicare/Medicaid quality varies by location.
Are you using Medi-Cal?
Thanks for this!

I skip lunch everyday so I can pay for my health insurance (group plan offered thru the company).

And I have never had an hmo in my life. But it is what I can afford.

I think something is wrong when you have to choose between eating and taking a daily break and having health insurance.

Although I am very grateful I have it. I have never had to use it, though. I am a cash paying client (pdoc, md and T) because even though the new law protects people with pre-existing conditions, the premiums are outrageous for those not on a group plan.

The insurance companies are so greedy it is revolting. I think they must rank up there now with Wall Street and Bankers.

From what I understand, too, a couple of private ins companies are raising premiums up to 60%...

When is too much enough for these c level execs?! How many cars, houses, jars of caviar do they need?

Carol, have you been to the Family Health Centers to see if they can help?

Been there done that.

They won't. They were one of the ones that discriminated against me. I am not joking.

thanks anyway.
