How do you guys vent when you're really angry over something? Before I used to punch it out (on a bag not a person lol) but I lost interest in it and I didn't see the point in keeping a punch bag since I don't box and I can't punch for crap in the first place lol.
Lately I've just been kicking my anger away with either a soccer or rugby ball and if I happen to be angry at rugby training I usually have extra "omph" in my tackling lol.
I think my ways are pretty healthy in letting it out... how do you vent?

Anger takes a lot of energy so do something physically taxing so that your anger hasn't any fuel to fan itself with. It will die on the bud.

Unless you have a sport of choice, I would second the "take a walk" motion. Depending on your fitness level I would walk for a good hour. You'd be surprised how different you feel when you're through...you may not even remember the source of your anger.
Thanks for this!

I just said in my post I play rugby the anger can add to the physicality too so sometimes it can be "good" to get angry before a game, but not over something serious... maybe over something like all the cleaning I have to do or something lol.

anger is a huge issue and venting it properly is often a problem. as a guy, when i get angry, i don't get verbal, i feel like getting physical. sometimes exercise / sports does help. playing tennis and cycling help me a lot, not so much with the anger but with the physical part. hanging out with friends and, if you have a good enough friend, talking about it also helps. i know that if i am angry about something the harder i want to hit a tennis ball and only a very long bike ride will do. as far as what's causing the anger - that's something that you will also have to address.
Thanks for this!

Walk and/or talk to someone about it.

I don't often get angry as i'm generally a peaceful guy, but when I do get angry I usually punch myself in the leg.

I do get angry often and it is a big problem for me. Usually I punch myself in the face, hit other things, or throw something. I try to hold back which results in just a sigh or moan of frustration but sometimes I end up breaking something (PS2, window, cell phone, etc). For years I've been thinking about getting a punching bag but I never did.
