I am 21, i have been sexually active since late into 17, and have been masterbationg since 16, but really compusively since i was around 18-19. Suddenly i have lost a lot of size, i went on a long time thinking that i was homosexual because my mind was not interested in it at all and i got really screwed up endochronicalligacly. I am now losing about half the size, it is not as hard, i am going to an urologist on monday but I am wondering if this size loss could possibly be permanent. last night i had sex with my girlfriend and was not really interested, about three inches decreased, maybe 3-4 inches, and lasted about 30 seconds. I considered myself good a while ago, but i masterbate about 3-4 tiems a day on a bad week. I am very nervous. i have gone as high as five, but I need help... any ideas?

Masturbation will not cause loss of size.

Wait a minute... You masterbate about 3 to 4 times a day on a 'bad week', but was disinterested when you had sex w/ your girlfriend last night?

And like FerretGuy5 said, masterbation does not cause any decrease in size.
Thanks for this!

Hi,

Have the same problem. Try some yoga to control over yourself.

You enjoy your own **** then your girlfriend. Try masterbating less often to bring back your full erections. You are going to begin becoming interested in other guys.

I think addressing the compulsive masturbation would be the best place to start. The other stuff (fear of homosexuality, loss of "size", lack of interest in GF, etc.) should all improve if you are able to get a handle (no pun intended, sorry) on your multiple daily jack sessions.

Good luck, and avoid the online pr0n as much as possible. (Also try some kind of DBT/distress tolerance-type therapy as well?)

What feelings do you have when you masturbate.....what exactly are you looking for? Do you use pronoghrapy? I can only offer this, so far......I found my ex-girlfriend very attractive and we enjoyed each other. But, pornography was an outlet from the "same-ole, same-ole". They masturbation did not affect my performance but, the pornography did play a part.

Yes, perhaps you could provide some more details. For instance:

There is no medical connection between masturbation and decreased erection size, if that's what you mean. I would say that if you're masturbating several times a day, it is physically more difficult to maintain a full erection on time number 4 or 5. That, however, is not permanent.

Now I'm quite confused. Despite what the above poster would have you believe, masturbating does not mean you are (necessarily) sexually attracted to men. That is a seriously false claim. However, if you weren't "interested" in it, why would that even make you think that you might be gay? I don't understand the reasoning, even taking into account the fallacious (heh) association you mention.

I assume you mean "endocrinologically," and you'll have to explain again what you mean.

Hopefully he has already told you that no, it is not.

...and how many times did you masturbate before that?

I'm not trying to make you feel stupid, but rather point out some (what seem to me as being, anyway) illogical conclusions to which you're jumping in order to 1) reassure you that most likely masturbation has not permanently damaged your penis; and 2) get you thinking about what could be going on beneath the masturbation. As someone who deals with obsessions and addictions to pleasurable activities, I would hazard a guess that you are masturbating to mask some other feeling and anxiety. Feelings and anxieties, which, I may add, can have an deleterious effect on sexual performance (rather than the actual masturbation).

So - obviously something is going on, and it'd behoove you to clear your mind about the physical worries so that you can concentrate on the mental and emotional stuff.

Good luck. And check out some other fora when you have an idea of what might be happening inside.

Are there any events that trigger anxiety that you can think of? I know when I was about 11-12 years of age, when I was anxious, I would masturbate to "releave" the anxiousness, which it did not. Though after climax, it felt good, the anxiety was still there. So, if you are feeling anxious, what is causing the anxiety and once you find out what you are anxious about, resolve it and move on in your life.

Compulsive masturbation at 21 years of age? You'll grow out of it. It won't cause you harm (well, maybe psychologically, if you let it). There are worse things you could be doing. I used masturbation a lot to relieve stress when I was your age. Turned out to be one of my better coping tools. Mike

I agree with cypher. Hell I still masturbate when I can't sleep at night. I would say though that if you are more interested in masturbating than sex with your g/f then you are not getting a need met by your g/f that is being met by masturbating. It could mean that you are gay if you had gay thoughts when you masturbate. Or it could mean that you asexual which simply means you are uninterested in sex with another person. Or it could simply be that your g/f just doesn't do it for you.

Regardless, no of these things are bad for you, it just means you will have to take a non-traditional approach to your sexuality.
Thanks for this!
