This is all Underground's fault. He's the one that wanted to make the NPD forums 'the place to be'.
![]() To be honest I'm beginning to understand why it's usually so dead in here. Either people try too hard to be you, they're telling you you're pure evil or they're over reacting to some perceived narcissistic trait. *Shakes head* Sometimes I think I would like to be a narcissist. It seems like it's so much easier but then I really think about it and I realize in the end it's just as bad a place to be. The problems are just different. Not easier. The NPD forum is so little about people with NPD that it seems unsurprising that few are interested in healing. People will continue being idiots either way. Wow Bête that was uncalled for!!! So many new people we had to get to know one another. For the ones that wanted to babble on and on had nothing to do with me only that a little voice was trying so hard to be heard. Let's be a little more serious now, so many claim to be this and that but in reality this forum is interesting lately and people want to read all about it. Not because this is new or unheard of but because people like me make it so entertaining and interesting that so many have urges to check in periodically just to see what I have to say. Like I said earlier "the most interesting man alive" I don't always write in forums but when I do I prefer psychcentral. Hahahaha. Anyway just checking in as it is my last day out of town and saw all the wonderful posts which forced me to write while away. To all your welcome for my quick return!!!
Always love me, Underground |

You know you're a narcissist when even though there's an NPD forum available, you seldom talk about what it's actually like to have NPD and the struggles you go through because it's so rare to get a genuine response.

When you have your own theme song
When you know everybody is beneath you When you spend hours agonizing over your appearance. When no one but your electronic devices understand you. When other people come to you with their problems and you have to pretend to care. When you have to be the center of attention, no matter what. When you abuse the resources given to you in order to get what you want. When you are an insane perfectionist. When you feel a power trip every time you think about your dreams. When your ambition overrides your better judgment. When you use different means to con people out of what you want, including lying or seduction. Having the firm knowledge that you are better than the biggest authority in school or at home.

You know you're a narcissist when you resist changing the destructive or self-destructive properties because you feel it would destroy the positive ones.

You know you're a narcissist when you give the cold shoulder so effectively you have your "supply" right where you want them in no time and they're begging your forgiveness for whatever they've done this time to piss you off.

Hmm? I didn't mean my comment to be directed at you. I'm sorry if I have offended you.
But I swear Underground was doing something similar to that before? Although I dunno if it was narcissism or more for amusement value. |

^I'm just curious about your motives. What made you post your comments? Have you actually been reading my posts? Or are you just commenting on the number, with no regard to the subject matter?
C'mon. Tell us what's really going on in that pretty little head of yours. |

Have you been seeing a mental health professional?
I've had nasty people suggest that I'm autistic/asperger's. I've taken a few online tests, and found that I have virtually none of the traits. My view of people with NPD traits, is that although we act like we're superior, we actually have an inferiority complex, and we are very sensitive. My own view is that all people with NPD traits were severely damaged somehow, and that the traits we exhibit are a defense mechanism. A mechanism that can be tough to change, unfortunately. I do want to change and get better in ways that make it possible to enjoy friendships. I don't have to have many friends, just 1 or 2 would be fine by me. My own experiences have convinced me that it is very difficult to figure out for myself where my "real" problems lie. As difficult as it may be, I need to talk to a mental health professional to help me be a little more objective. Last edited by shakespeare47; Aug 11, 2014 at 09:59 AM. |
