Not trying to highjack but want to clarify something.

When I said insignificant, I did'nt mean that It wasn't as important as anyone elses. I just meant that What happened to me could have far worse than it was. I guess I used the wrong word. I have read some posts that tore my heart out and I find myself thinking how much worse it really could have been. I just used the wrong word.

Mel, I understood what you meant. It's great that you realize that you're not as bad off as some people. Having the ability to be grateful for your circumstances, well... it just couldn't give you a better perspective! What's wrong with this picture?

Rebound, I really like your "opinion" of just moving on to the next message if you don't like the one you just read. What's wrong with this picture?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Guess I made a "Big Deal" out of nothing lol. Ok, lemme try that again hee hee- here goes, ahem.

I see your point. If one were in very bad shape, the effect of such a reply to a post could be extreme. It's just too bad we aren't more able to easily disregard posts we believe to be unhelpful. To me that would pretty much solve the problem in one go.

Btw, SM - thanks for the warm welcome back (although I never really left in my own mind - I've been thinking of all of you a great deal.) Keep stirring. I think the potatoes are burning at the bottom ;-)

Well, I've had more than my fair share of *regrets* of asking for support or even just hugs. I plan to sit on my hands a lot because I don't plan on ever posting about my troubles ever again. That makes it much harder for me cuz it feels like my insides are screaming so loud that I can't stand it. Without *loving* support, I end up shutting down completely, like I have for the last few days, barely even getting out of bed and totally unable to function. I will however continue to offer my support with kindness to everybody else here that *wants* it, when I am able. Thanks Tomi for raising this issue, I know sadly I'm not the only one who feels this way. What's wrong with this picture?

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Angel}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} What's wrong with this picture? You're one of the many reasons why I posted like I did. I have seen with my own two eyes how some have treated you with never a thought for your feelings; only theirs.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Angel}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Hun, you ARE NOT "vacant." You are full of caring and support for others regardless of how much you are hurting. That says much about what a wonderful person you are! Personally, I wouldn't be nearly as forgiving as you are. Give yourself a hug and tell yourself that you are just as worthy and just as deserving of all the good things as anyone else.

I care about you, I recognize your intelligence, your big heart and your ability to hang in. What's wrong with this picture?

I'll make it easy on everyone so you can stop thinking you're all to blame. This is referring to me, OK? Maybe I should change my avatar to a steaming turd and my signature to "Don't read a word I say. I obviously don't give a crap about you anyway."

Agreed SM..
((HUGS)))

of course you should still post angel.

I have work from the premise that some members (people in general?) never get any constructive feedback IRL and are 1) shocked when they receive it here and 2) don't know it's constructive when it happens here and 3) just don't know how to deal with it. Add to that how we are "fragile" so often when we come here for support, that some days ANY thing will set us off.

Threads like these need to happen... no "fault" just a reminder to us all. Don't feel guilty, don't be upset. Read it, take what you can from it, and move on.

Thanks again "SM" heeheeheehee

I am truly sorry you feel this way. It was my understanding that you and I had dealt with this issue through PM and in a friendly manner.

My intent was NOT to insult or allienate any more members. It was an effort to reconcile some of the differences.

Since this thread is no longer serving it's purpose, it's time this thread was closed. After my response to Sky, I am abandoning this thread and will no longer be responsible for what it turns into. I'm truly, truly dissapointed that it wasn't taken in the spirit in which it was meant!

I think the entire thought is important enough to repeat because it includes REASONS why we get our feathers fluffed! LOL ...

The vast majority of the members here don't post to get anyone riled up or to insult them or in any way want to make another member worse. The word SM used is "intention." What a great word - what a great idea! Dr Wayne Dyer just produced a whole series of 4 hours on intention. We're not beating a dead horse... threads like these (with everyone's answers) are part of the way this site stays so safe... we share, we intend, and we understand.

Each of us needs to realize when it's us who feels we are being trampled on, especially if some mods PM us about our behavior, then it isn't the whole site... it might not be other members... it might very well be the place we are in at the time.

Part of relearning "social skills" come from these very type interractions: misunderstanding, acting out, reevaluating, changing, understanding. Many of us never developed such skills because of our home environment. Some of us lost them due to trauma along the way.

It's ok. It's a necessary evil to get through these exchanges.
It takes 2 or more to fight... this isn't a fight... (for those who shy away from any friction.)

I, personally, don't "hate" anyone...and doubt that the majority of members here hate other members. It IS a big family, and we are learning/relearning just how to live with each other.

It's a process... it's a journey... not a destination.

Be well, be safe. What's wrong with this picture?

My "intention" was to abandon this thread but after your words, Sky, I can't do it. The post is just too good to ignore.

I've watched a lot of Dr. Wayne Dyer's four-hour series. That's where I got a past signature: "Don't die with your music inside you." The name of the series and/or book(s) is "THE POWER OF INTENTION."

Like oil and water, eh, Sky? LOL But we both new that it was similarities in our characters that made us clash. We explored them and came to terms with them. We still don't agree on very much but we can respect each other for those differences. I think it's our common faith that has bonded us. What do you say, Sky?

Dr. John Grohol's Psych Central---Official Disclaimer </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
I was trained and educated in graduate school as a clinical psychologist at Nova Southeastern University and have my doctorate in clinical psychology. I have worked at a VA, two community mental health centers, and a large university student counseling center doing therapy. I no longer do any sort of therapy, online or in real life, because I chose to pursue a career devoted to educating people about mental illness, the power of information online, online self-help groups and support, and professional development online.

I have never been licensed to practice (I did my clinical work over the course of four years while in graduate school), nor have I ever portrayed myself as having been licensed in any state, province, or country. All a license means is that a professional has had additional supervised clinical experience (in most states, yet one more year), and has passed national and state licensing exams of questionable utility and validity (there are no empirical studies to support the validity of state licensing examinations in most states). The most valid aspect of licensing is the state examination, which ensures a practicing, licensed therapist is aware of all the laws which cover him or her in that specific state (e.g., reporting suicide attempts, child or elder abuse, etc.). The Internet, however, is global in nature. So knowing a single state's laws isn't going to be all that helpful in the long-run for online practice. Licensure is largely intended for professionals who practice or intend to practice; I do not. I develop, maintain, and present on international mental health information services and continuing education online.

Ok, fine! So he doesn't have a license. That's neither here nor there to me. The fact still remains that it's HIS site and HIS rules because He Knows Best. Who are we to try to change them? I mean that sincerely.
