Like you get a song stuck in your head or a thought about your day tomorrow... maybe something about work? Or something you might have forgotten to do? Or that friend you forgot to call (Texas Jenn) and you just HAD to call her? Or the fact that you didn't yet put in your expense reports? Or your time reports? Or feeding the cat while the roommate is out of town?

... just some of the many thoughts that have run through my head in about the past 5 minutes.

Ry

If I am thinking about something too much, I write it down. Usually I am thinking of it because I am worried I will forget. Once it is written down, I am usually good to go.

Good luck, Ry! (and welcome back Ever have trouble sleeping? )

Always have had a problem sleeping. I remember hwne I was younger and at a sleep over my and my friends wouldn't go to sleep, so we were awake all day. When we went swimming we slept on the floatys. But still you need sleep or your be a dead zoombie with out rest beyond the grave! I like to sometimes drink coffee and coke.I think I also have an internet addiction on the computer as I find myself saying just a few more minutes, turns out to be a few hours. Any way I sometimes feel like I should have a needle to go to sleep with. Also with the medcation I'm on gives me scary nightmares, which I hate knwoing that I'm always the person in the dream. Normally I get about six hours sleeping. If I have a day off school sometimes I over sleep. Still I find it hard to just fall to sleep now in a deep sleep. I day dream quite alot and once fell asleep in English. What a boring lesson that was. Also started my own thread about sleeping problems..... http://forums.psychcentral.com/showf...b=5&o=&fpart=1

For me, it's when do I ever not have trouble sleeping? When I can fall asleep, I can't stay asleep. When I can't fall asleep, it's for days... and when I do finally fall asleep, I wake up feeling like someone just stabbed me in the heart w/an adrenaline shot. And it's always been this way - my parents gave up on a set 'bed-time' & just started giving me large doses of Nyquil... I still hate the flavor of licorice :P

So for now, it's Elavil... It was Ambien, but the Ambien stopped working. Eventually, I'm sure the Elavil will quit working, too. I've tried melatonin, otc sleep aids, a delta wave sleep CD, meditation, warm milk, turkey... I've made my bedroom a sanctuary to sleep, all blue & cool & dark, but alas, I'm always awake. Terribly, terribly awake...

Hey Ry!!

I know I am a little late replying. I'm sorry. I had a hard time last night as you know and I was afraid to reply then.

Sleeping is hard when we have so much going on. I do drink lots of herbal tea's. Chamomile, Sleepy time and Tension tamer. I have 3 or 4 relaxation CD's that I use also but sometimes they bother hubby Ever have trouble sleeping?.

I try to divert my thoughts. That is so much easier said then done though. I guess going to my peaceful place helps me relax. I do think of every detail so it makes it that much more inviting. I hope you have better luck tonight. Sleep well my Sweet Pea!!!! Ever have trouble sleeping?

Love,

jen

I use Ambien as needed, but I've also tried the Sleepytime tea. For me it seems to ake a double shot...but it helps.

Sleep troubles are awful.

I hope you get some peaceful rest.

hello! I take Remeron right before I go to bed. It works like a charm. You will be... "Out..like the lights!"in about 10 to 15 minutes.

Before I discovered Remeron...I used to use OTC Benadryl. 2 caps just as you are going down for the night. Whamo...sure did the trick for me.

Hope this helps ya.

Oh, Maaan! I thought Ryan had come back to post!! Ever have trouble sleeping?

Yeah... if I have trouble sleeping and I'm not too uptight, I drink a cup of warm milk with honey and it works. If not, if I'm uptight about something, I take Tylenol PM. That ALWAYS works.

Good luck.
