make yourself invisible then. what could you possibly be doing that you're worried about other people watching?

Perhaps it is just me being overly sensitive but I detected a tone of annoyance. This too is part of the residue. Bringing something forward and being questioned as if it was you that was bad.

I know these are my issues. I own them.

No, there is a chance that you're right. If so, I apologize. I haven't had any coffee yet and got woken up by a phone call at 5:45am by someone who forgot that I live on the west coast.

What I think I was thinking, though, is that there is a practical solution for the problem as I understood it.

Sorry, Petunia!

It's not "all these red names", I see for "location", "private" appears by anon's and member's names. It is not just admin and mods, etc. I have no idea, why the system does that, but I plan to find out. Till then, I wish everyone would stop thinking others are "spying" on them, and relax. i know my faculities are questionable...
The only thing I can think off hand, and it has been said by others, is to choose "invisable" if you do not want others to see you are online or what you are reading. I hope a more exact/technical explanation will be available soon, to better assist member's question(s).
All admins and mods are "visible" in "who's online?" when they are, so any questions can be PMed to any one of them.
Hope this will help the confusion, and further prevent this false sense of insecurity here.
Please take care now,

DE

Pet, if you turn your thinking the other way... the Admins are making sure YOU stay safe from those that might wish you harm. You wouldn't want THEM to know they were being watched so they could run and hide, would you?

To see the "private" by an Admin's name gets my curiosity up, but if I think they're watching to keep ME safe, it makes it a whole lot better. i know my faculities are questionable...

Hope that helps.
