I am sorry. Feeling of emptiness is one of the worst feelings ever and it's hard to fight when you are in midst of it.
But in the end... doctors cannot really help your with feelings of emptiness. They cannot fill your life. It's you who has to find the light.

Yeah, when I feel empty, I realize I need to focus on something that fills me up. I've had chronic feelings of emptiness though since I was 16 and I translated them as feeling as loneliness up until now.
What does DBT consist of?

around here mental health providers are not allowed to assume how the client is feeling. we have to wait until the client tells us how they feel before we can address it. the closest we can get to bringing issues up is by asking the client generic, open ended or broad questions. .. how are you doing today? how was your week? is there anything you would like to talk about today? mental health providers are not mind readers. yes theres body language but even that can be misleading. a person can appear to be happy but in actuality they are down, a person can appear to be down and out but in actuality they can be top of the world. Suggestion maybe you can call your pdoc and tell them how you are feeling, email them your feelings or write out your feelings and give what you write to them. ![]() |

Gentle hugs to you roxyanne
![]() Sometimes doctors get a little too wrapped up in things, and when they see us, they don't see the chaos that we feel inside. I HATE that! Very disappointing! ![]() Use some pleasant activities (and/or escapes when you have to) to get you through to a better state of mind. Best wishes to you honey ~ you're in my thoughts!

DBT = Dialectic Behavioral Therapy
It's the reminder to stay present in this very moment. Don't ruminate about the past, or worry about the future. Instead, focus on right this very second. The sounds that you hear, listen completely. The sights, focus on tiny little intricacies of one thing in front of you. How complex it is, how smooth or rough, etc. Just focus all of your attention on that one thing. It helps to regulate the mood a bit & lose tension.
