I need to do like the Clean Sweep folks. Put 3 tarps on the front lawn and toss everything into a "Keep," "Sell," or "Toss" pile. But the way I feel right now, I want to throw everything on the toss pile and just start over from scratch. There's so much junk, I don't know where to start. Dirty clothes, clean clothes that need folding, dirty dishes, dishes that need putting away. A lawn that needs mowing, transcription that needs doing, blankets and pillows on the couch and floor that could be put away but will dragged out by kids later today anyway, so why bother. I have too little closet and cupboard space to put everything. Whatever happened to the days of only having the bare necessities?

It's just too much to deal with. Clean Sweep I need help!

Maybe you could just choose one thing? Clean Sweep

Looking at all of it will be too overwhelming and you won't be able to get anything done. Clean Sweep

So pick just one. Clean Sweep

Then come back and tell us what you did. Clean Sweep

I agree, One category at a time. Look at clothes. Do they fit? Has anyone worn them in the past year, if not out they go. Then look, do you have 15 pairs of jeans and never need all of them, out they go. kids stuff, is it ratty or not fitting, out the window. When you are done you have a nice pile for salvation army and you can wash and hang, fold whatever is left over. Good luck.

What about getting the kids involved with the "clean sweep"?

Maybe you make of list in order of importance. Set a date (like a Saturday). Get the kids to pitch in and hangle certain tasks and try to tackle some of the stuff.

I did that a few weeks ago at my house. It worked out pretty well. I even had my 9 year old scrubbing the base boards. The still look great. LOL. Making a "day" of it isnt so bad. Also getting the kids involved relieves you as well. Just a thought.

Take care.
