DocJohn, when I'm viewing favorite forums only, there's a tag line at the top that says so, and one to click on to show all forums. But when I'm in ALL forums... I have to go to the bottom of the page to go back to viewing Favorite forums... can you sync that please?

I'd like a forum just for Current Events things that are in the news rather than have to sort through them in the General Forum. Things that are newsworthy could go there too... such as would be passed across the neighbor's fenceline, anything upsetting and stuff like that. Right now (and usually) there are a few threads in General that are distressing, just reading the subject lines Features you'd like to see in an ideal mental health site I need to de-stress Features you'd like to see in an ideal mental health site Maybe a sub category?

I deliberately avoid the news, picking and choosing where and when and what. I find that helps me keep on a better keel than constantly being traumatized by the media and unkind acts of the world.

Spaces are filling up fast....quick get your say in...
Firstly...I would like to see not only the dictionary to blog with but also a thesauras (please Features you'd like to see in an ideal mental health site)

Secondly...and most importantly...I think that it is essential that we have a beginner's guide to different mental illnesses (conditions)...it is imperative that information should be easy to understand and easy to read...someone who is anxious, depressed, pyschotic, in pyschosis or just coming out needs simple, easy to understand jargon about the condition and the treatments. Preferably all in the same space.

Thirdly...ah... a coffeeshop.. lol
Everything seems good to me...I seem to have no problem navigating back and forth betwixt things. Of course I use my favorites list for everything and that makes it easier.
You should ask questions more often DocJohn...look at the responses.

Hey. I know that this thread isn't really supposed to be about suggestions for this site but i have a suggestion for this site anyway...

I would find it really helpful if we could have a bit more control over who we receive PM's from. In particular, I would find it really helpful if we could choose to 'not accept' PM's from particular posters.

I'm aware that we can, in effect, do this by putting the poster on ignore. I find that I'm better able to deal with people on the boards (where they are somewhat accountable for their posts) rather than when I'm receiving PM's from them (where they are somewhat less accountable for their messages).

Especially when you ask someone to stop PMing you and they PM you right back to say 'you can't make me!'. Sigh.

NOTE: I am happy receiving PMs the majority of the time and this suggestion is NOT in response to people who have PMd me over the last week or so. In fact, when I do have a problem I always say that I'm having one so if I haven't told you I'm having a problem with your PMs then it is safe to assume that I'm not having a problem with your PMs.

One other thing...

I can't use the chat function from home. I think this is because there is an effort to limit our wireless usage, but admittedly I'm not sure. I have had trouble with accessing some chat functions through university firewall / proxy. I can access the chat function from my office here (whereas I couldn't do that at my last university) but I'm unable to access the chat function from the wireless at home.

It is something to do with the java applet failing to load / being aborted or somesuch.

It might have something to do with the address(?) starting with chat. or .chat or whatever. It might be that the firewall is blocking chat. or .chat addresses?

I don't know what is going on... But I expect that it is a firewall issue.

Any way around that?

If not... Don't suppose you would be able to change the address to .work or work. - would you???

(PS yes I have latest java updates installed)

(off topic)

Hello alexandra k,
you might get more help with that question if you put it in the technical support forum. Or PM DocJohn about it.

Good luck.

I have just realized that it would be easier to read/reply to the threads in a forum (for me anyway) if I could just go from one thread to the "NEXT." Rather than have to click on return to the forum index.

If there could be an option of choosing Return to the Forum, View your Post, Go to Next Thread in Forum that would be way kewl for me Features you'd like to see in an ideal mental health site

(I know there's the NEXT option if you are only reading threads. Once you reply, you only have 2 options. )

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
