Hi a friend of mine just ended his job..not his idea and he was not fired...He worked 6 months for a company BUT it was through a temp agency...or employment agency...Can he collect? I wonder as his income can affect mine

He should be able to collect as long as he worked the 6 months out of the year. My bf worked for a placing agency, he got laid off and collected unemployment.

Each state might have different laws, but if he worked through a temp agency, he cannot draw unemployment from the company to which he was assigned.

Thanks both...yes it was an emloyment temp agency and the agency cut the checks,,,,is it FICA you may for unemployment?

The only company that he can draw unemployment from is the temp. agency. Most states have websites online now so you can read up on their rules. Most states go by quarters to determine what someone is allowed to recieve. Good luck and I hope this helps.
