Have lived in this house for twenty years, been painted once, needs it again, needs a new roof. Upstairs was an attic when we moved in. So for years and years we have lived with no flooring upstairs. It started that my daughter wanted a studio space and I figured those self-glue tiles would work great which they have. Then the dollar store had cheap ones, a box of I think 35 for ten dollars. So when my son was moving home we put tile in there but never finished the edges as we ran out of time. And then I have had boxes of tile for the upstairs hall for months waiting to be laid. So tonight I did. All done. Back hurts like crazy but it's done. Only thing to do now is get the would for the door jams and the mop-board. That will be urethaned before it is installed. It looks brite and festive and clean. Clean is very good. I did something productive today!!!! yay yay yay. Can't wait for the wood but that will happen by the end of this week. Simple pleasures.

I amazed myself that I could do the stright cutting! I did have a problem where I cut a mirror image of the peice I wasnted. OOPS! Well, it's not professional but no one will look or notice and it feels good. Keep wishing I had extra wood in the basement to use but it's been used by now. Best part of mop board is it forgives us our mistakes and hides them nicely. Thanks.

Huh, thanks Jan. Boy my typing is embarrassing. I am really not illiterate. I decided that if the dollar store still carries that pattern I have a box and a half left over so I will do son's old room with it as well. Cheery uppy.

That is quite a task! We have tiled (mortor, grout and all) our own dining room and kitchen and although it was fun it was also very hard and back breaking work!!! The small bathroom we plan on using the sticky tiles and the big bathroom more ceramnic, mortor and grout!! It is a great bonding task though..... To look back at ones own handy work is a fabulous feeling, isnt it? I am glad that you are pleased and that it put a smile in your day!

I love ceramic tile and stone tile. Would love to do it. No skill and no money so forget that one. I am paying today, I can barely move. I went to get the mop-board and forgot the thresholds. Then on the way home Dorothy paid a visit with the wind and the wood actually blew out of my truck!!!! I couldn't believe it. So hubby is getting the new peice of mopboard, I have already measured, cut and pollied all that I can for now. It looks so brite and festive! My butt hurts, I think from kneeling and sitting on the floor. ha ha, sore ***.

Now those of you who know me probably have figured out that I can barely move today. My pain is off the charts, back, butt and legs. Too bad I say< i got something done!!!!!

We'll, barely able to walk or bend I finished everything. Almost, still need thresholds. My mop board is funcky in 2 places due to the floor being two different heights and that the chimney is behind one wall. So it ain't perfect but it is bright and cheery and it is done. In addition I took the screen part for my back door and with cable ties and linoleum tiles made a screen door for my daughter's studio so she can get heat and the animals can't do no no's. I feel accomplished. I am even okay with the amount of meds I needed to stay functioning. I hurt everywhere. So it's not perfect but it is done and I did it. I am going to try to match the almost two boxes I have left to go into my son's old room which is now filled with a lot of storage items. I am on a roll. I feel very satisfied.
