Hope you have written the dream down. Keep a notebook by your bedside, and write before you fully awake. Then again make notes when you go about your day, as things will connect with your activities and thoughts.

There are some common beliefs about symbols in dreaming, but IMO you have to know them for your brain to use them to communicate with you. I do vision quests, and "know" that certain objects represent certain things to me.

Thanks so much for sharing something so persoal, your poem was very well written, and I can understand the fear you must get from that. Keep on working on the positive things in your life, and think about them as you start to fall asleep, also, I have been told by a counselor once that if you normally lie in the same position when you go to bed, that changing that position to initially fall asleep can help reduce nightmares, try it out!!

Thanks again for your thoughts

I know my dreams lately mean I've been watching waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to much T.V. I keep dreaming I'm making out with Ryan Stiles of Drew Carey and Whose Line is it Anyway fame. I didn't think I had a crush on him but after dreaming this many a night and then watching it in the afternoon I see hey he kind of a cutie. To bad he's married and has kids. Oh well I digress. I do think dreams mean things but have no idea what this one means.
