I wonder if anyone else does this. Sometimes (like now), I start slurring my speech, repeating things over and over, sway and move funny, practically acting like I'm drunk. And I can't help it. If someone's around (like now), I can keep it in check.

Has anyone else experienced this? It's been a few months since the last time. Oh, and I almost forgot: I get this urge to hurt myself, but I'm not depressed. Just really out of it.

For me, it is combination of meds, sleep, and my body. The of symptoms you describe fits the general description of side effects of my sleeping with another med for BP. Those are enhanced if I am a bit dehydrated, don' t do exercises, spent make time in bed, and fewer trips to the bathroom.

I get foggy, slurred speech, can't walk in a straight line, etc... It does almost mimic being drunk. I often wonder if it has something to do with my depression bc I'm not on meds, nor do I drink.

How old are you? Are you having a stroke? Either too high or too low of blood pressure? Overtired? I've been dealing with being crosseyed for the last 4 months due to a stroke I apparently slept thru, and it is a bit of an inconvenience, so I would recommend taking this seriously. And by inconvenience I mean pain in the posterior.

Thanks all. I don't drink myself, and I think this happened prior to meds as well. Can't recall.

Young adult. Unless I've been having multiple strokes I doubt it. Had a sandwich before, but maybe low blood pressure, it's possible. I have been changing my sleeping patterns, but I feel more rested these days than before.

I've mentioned it to my counsellor before. I actually recorded myself talking once. Maybe I should share it with him, see what he thinks.

And is the cross-eyed-ness permanent or temporary? It does sound like a huge pain in the rear.

A few of those I have with silent migraines. But don't take chances with your brain, get it checked out.

When I get an attack sometimes part of my mouth goes numb and I can't speak properly, it sucks because people might think it is alcohol related. Then I can also get weird mind loops and think and think again about weird things I normally don't think about. Also my balance is a little off.

But then I also had full blown silent attacks with ear buzzing, blind spots, sense of bright light that isn't there, zigzag patterns etc.

My husband slurred his words when he was going toxic on his lithium. He was taking the right amount of lithium, but then he started taking certain allergy medications that caused his lithium concentration to increase. We didn't realize this was going on until it had damaged his kidneys. So if you are taking lithium, go get a blood test and check your lithium level. Maybe something could be making it increase too high.

PS - I can't remember which allergy meds interfere with lithium. . .but a pharmacist would know.

Well, it doesn't last that long for me; maybe an hour or less. And if someone's around, like with depression, I can act normal, or more normal, anyway. I keep telling myself that I'm making myself act that way, that I'm doing it on purpose. Maybe it's the stress getting to me or...?

I remember writing in my journal last time. My writing progressively got worse. But later I'm fine, and it's as if nothing happened. Like today: I feel fine.

Bark, PUH-LEASE see a doctor. It might be that you are "making" yourself act that way. It could also be something medical - like a seizure. Go see a doctor!

My crosseye is permanent, but it might go away after six months or so. So who knows. I wear a bandaid on one eye like a kid with lazy eye when I leave the house, cuz otherwise I get dizzyish. So I'm grateful for the vision I have! Like my eyes work, but just one at a time! But they would go cross on me in the past for a minute like when I got too tired or something. Maybe once a year or two? Not that often but now I gotta wonder. And I wonder if Hillary Clinton used to go crosseyed before too? I wish she would say. I am at 4 months and it does seem to be improving.

All right, maybe I'll see a doctor tomorrow. I have a long day, though. So most likely Friday.

Spoke to the nurse. My doctor says I should eat properly, drink lots of water, and decrease the dose of one of my medications.

Hopefully the dose decrease will help with my memory problems.

I think drinking lots of water is a good idea sometimes your liver gets full of toxins like ammonia and you could have those same things happen. I would for sure get it checked out by a Dr. I wish you the best.
