Just a urging for all those in the forum. to be generous with your patience.. be kind to others.. Give grace b/c it may need to be given to you. This is a forum for support.. so don't give further rejection and stress about doing it all right. ... Just my thoughts..

I couldn't have said it any better.................. YOU are WISE.

AND - as Doc John stated in the rules and guidelines:

This is, first and foremost, a self-help support community...
That means if your message (post or PM) isn't about offering support to another person or asking for it,
it's potentially not appropriate for our community.

I, personally, have never "threatened" to leave PC be kind! it is still the best place around. When I leave PC it will be because I don't need ANY support site... but I doubt that is coming in the foreseeable future. be kind!

Yes, good reminders all!!! TC!

i left a board before because i believed that the moderator had started to lose touch with the good of the group vs the good of himself. i believed that that was resulting in hurting individuals for the stated intention of the 'good of the group' when I thought that actually he was hurting the group more than helping in some instances. He wasn't prepared to look at that... I'm not prepared to go back.

I would leave here if I thought that moderators were more looking out for their own interests than the interests of the group as well.

I don't think any love / support (in the natural world anyway) is unconditional.

Though it is of course hard to see whether people are acting for the good of the group or not when one doesn't see much of their action / rationalle... Need to take it on faith.

Hrm. I'd like to talk about political ideology round about now... I think that is okay. I'm talking Plato really...

In the beginning there is anarchy / chaos
People start running riot
Hurting and attacking each other...
A leader arises
If the leader acts in the interests of the group you have a
monarch
If the leader becomes corrupt and acts for the good of themself you have a
tyrant
Plato thought a rule by one necessarily would evolve into a rule by small few. Now my terms will get in a muddle...
I'm thinking
oligarchy
Plato thought there would be a violent overthrowing of the leader and a small group of leaders would arise...

The challenge for the small group is to continue to act in the interests of th egroup as a whole
Rather than in their own interests...

Power...

The problem of power...

And when so much goes on behind the scenes it is hard to assess... People tend to trust the partriarchal figure...

But there can be malevolent intentions yes.
But even more to the point there can be ignorance / misunderstanding / mistake.

Interesting...

Sometimes...

What the few think is best for...

Well...

Lets be cleaer...

Best for the boards as a whole (given the passive agression and hurt feelings)

Or...

Best for themselves

?????

Something to think about

(While I get smucked into next month perhaps)

Trying to help though.

When leaders can't take criticism...
Then you really gotta worry...
