Hm.. tough one. Both would be good. Probably being respected though. As that means people acknowledge that you have a voice and well, respect it/you. Though, on second thoughts, I think they tend to go together don't they. I mean, if you truly like someone (and not just pretend to their faces), you ultimately respect them as well. Point to ponder.

Being RESPECTED..... for then the liking part will usually come natural to those that respect you, both in your personal & professional life.

I respect one or two irl folk that I do not always like. If that makes sense.

Both! I think they go together, though. Maybe it starts with "respect" and moves in with "like."

For me, I think that respect comes first. Being respected for who & what I am is important to me. However I remember a time when I didn't even respect myself. It is impossible for anyone to respect me when I didn't respect myself. It was a horrible period of time to go through, but I realized that I couldn't like myself if I didn't respect myself. It seems that I look at others that way too & am sure they do the same towards me.

For me its both.

A person doesn't have to like me but I expect them to respect me.

But a person who likes me must also respect me otherwise they would not like me.

When two people like each other they want whats best for each other and part of that is not calling each other names and so on which s what respect is. so basically likeness and friendship is built on respect.

if there is no respect - name calling and so on
then there is little to no feelings for liking someone.

respect, I feel I have earned it in the fact that I am a survivor, as Sky said, you don't have to like the things I say but respect me for my mind and I respect those hereas long as they respect others,and support ppl here

Hi Fuzzy for me they go hand in hand. I do not think we can respect what we do not like in part. So I would say respect because then I get both

i know people that i respect that i don't like.........
