I am having a few problems lately, and it's been within the last 2 years
![]() 1) I talk to myself, OUTLOUD. I don't even realize I'm doing it, and I don't know why. My mouth moves and I have expressions on my face. It's like I'm day dreaming, but I do it in front of people and I don't realize I'm doing it until after i'm done doing it. I think about things like work, and how things will play out, but how can I stop talking to myself? what's wrong with me? 2) I cannot pay attention to anything in class for the life of me. I cannot pay attention when I read, I get side tracked easily, and I cannot remember anything short term. I walk into rooms and I forget why I'm there, and it's not like it happens a little, it happens a lot. It's like I'm loosing my mind. Anything you think it could be? ![]() |

I'm sorry this is happening
![]() I talk to myself, all the time, but I don't have the confusion you are describing. You must be scared. Don't worry though, there are answers. I just wanted to reassure you. Check out some of the different forums, & some of the other tools on the site. It helped me a lot. I'm new too, but couldn't help reach out. Take care.

let me show you what I mean... lets take the talking problem... talking aloud without realizing it, making facial expressions, feeling like in a dream can be ....having a stroke, terrette's syndrome, stuttering, cerebral palsy, MS, Parkensons, over stimulated muscles and nerves, reacting to hallucinations or delusions, ADHD, ADD, excited, medications, normal, and many many more .... the same with the not being able to pay attention... it can be any number of mental and physical problems or something as simple as a learning disability, medications... the best thing I can tell you is, if you really want to know what is going on inside you then contact a medical doctor or psychiatrist or therapist in your off line location... they can help you figure out what going on. |

Hi,
I talk to myself too. I have this little voice in my head and we have discussions, it's almost like there's two of me, and I've done it in front of people and they look at me with a confused expression, like what on earth or who on earth are you talking to! I am forgetful, sometimes total memory loss. I would agree with above, taking note of anything traumatic that's happened too if it has and talk to your doctor ![]() |

Many times if we're stressed, preoccupied, overworked, etc., this will happen. I do this too, and have the memory loss as well but there are other reasons for my memory loss.
![]() I do think it might be beneficial to be evaluated by a therapist. It might do you a lot of good to enter into therapy. ![]() I wish you the very best. Please keep us posted on your progress. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee ![]()

I also talk to myself all of the time. I heard long ago that by using more than one sense you are more likely to retain things longer. Sometimes it is like I have two brains; one that is thinking four steps ahead, and the other reminding me not to overlook the little things on the task I am doing now. That is the dialog that comes out. People at work are used of it. But they've also learned not to talk to me when I'm focused like that. Throw in a another conversation and none of us know what is going to come out of my mouth.
Just yesterday I was reminding myself of things I had to do before an important presentation, while going through every step of the presentation and one of my children text me to ask for a tracking number for a package that we had sent. What I wanted to say was I'm at work now, the number is on my desk at home, call dad and get the information from him. But that was too much for my brain to handle. It was a six text conversation from me that was perfectly logical, gramatically correct, but had absoultely nothing to do with what we were talking about. When I saw them today I had no idea where it even came from.
