why when things go wrong do they cost a lot of money, we have put of repairing the water leak which happened last weak as we had to wait for the water board to raise the stockcock this is taking a while so we dont want to get fined for wasting water so we have phoned a contracter today to fix repair, he said £300 but he might be able to do it for £275 and then cash, we will be able to claim back £100 of the water board,
this has left me feeling a bit sick because i didnt want to spen any more money this month than we have to because of me giving up work, it might take at least 6 to 8 weeks to sort my benifit claim out,
hope i havent made things worse for my family

It does always seem like money is a first issue.

As far as making it harder on your family...I am not sure of your whole story but...it sounds like you are a caring and loving part of that family. When one family member is hurting the others often gather around and support that person. Willing to give and/or do without for a while to help that person.

So I am thinking that even if it's a bit harder for a while they will adapt and feel better for being able to give something back to the person who cares for them.

Just my thoughts.

Take care.

It's the months you try to save the most that you end up spending the most! Everything in your house knows they can only break when you're budget is low - and it's all Murphy's fault!

Hi Katheryn,
I don't understand the euro dollar amounts. How much is that in American money-do you know?
In any case, I understand it's money you don't have to be giving out to a bunch of contractors.
Sorry paying out again I know what it's like to keep being shoveled under a bunch of bills that you did not have fun creating.

Katheryn, no way you could know the water leak was going to happen or how much it would cost to fix. These things happen, it's no fault of your giving up work and having to wait for your benefit claim. Some months cost more than others, it's a fact of life. I hope it all comes out okay for you.
