paying for a wedding

I've mentioned I'm getting married. We don't have the money for the wedding we really want and it's depressing! My father lost his job so my fiance and I are paying for the whole thing. Neither of us make that much money.

I just showed my mother the place we really want and the place we will end of taking...Huge difference.

I was so nervous/excited, I don't remember my wedding day all that clearly :-) I found it nice to be married finally, get all the hype out of the way and be able to "settle down".

i too couldnt afford a lavish wedding, it was a regestry office with a do after at our flat,
we were lucky we had good ppl around us at the time and one person in paticular helped us a lot even to lending me an outfit when mine didnt arrive in time,

i spent most money on buying out fits for the two oldest girls and a sailor out fit for our son who was only two months old when we got married

i was glad the day was over and everyone went home though

Its hard when you want to go all out for the "happiest day of your life" and cannot, But hey, if you pay for it all yourself just think of how much of an accomplishment it would be to do yourself. My grandma paid for most of our wedding, and of course we had to pick the more affordable photographer and things like that, but it was still a great wedding. We are right now paying my grandma back for everything we borrowed. It feels good to do so, because she was the only one that helped us out in that sticky situation. I dont blame my parents at all because of the financial leiu they are in, and I don't blame hubbies mom because she is widowed and has many health problems. But remember, even if you pick another photographer or business because its cheaper than the one you wanted, dont feel let down; some can produce even better quality than the more expensive one. I know that planning a wedding can be so stressful. From cost to place to attire and guestlists and food...wow...so much to think about.

I had a good sized wedding my first time and it was ok, we had fun and had lots of people there. But I have to say that my 2nd wedding that was much less expensive was so much more fun! We were married by a JP in my MIL's livingroom with a few good friends and family members. We catered it ourselves with the exact food we wanted and all had a blast. We laughed and had the best time ever with that smaller, inexpensive wedding than I did with the first bigger one.

There are many ways to make an inexpensive wedding great......just think outside the box and come up with special little ideas to make the day more special. These things don't have to cost a lot and they just put the icing on the cake

We went to see an inexpensive caterer yesterday..It was definitely not nice, so I was pretty upset. When we got home we started talking to my fiance's mother.

I showed her another place I found that is still reasonable but more than we can pay ourselves.

She told us not to worry and that she is going to help. I went to visit the hall this morning and it's very nice...We may go with it.

How about renewing your vows for an anniversary in the future? Perhaps you could save some pennies and have some of the extras that would make the day special for you.

We've thought about that! But we may actually go with this hall I'm talking about...It's relatively inexpensive. My fiance likes it too...

about when is special day, if we're not to far away I could do your flowers, have done bridal flowers before
