I have alot of trouble with memory. Insomuch that sometimes I will forget the simplest things, like remembering to brush my teeth, shower, clean the dishes, write in my journal etc.

Its lead me to have an extremely messy house and i know most of you think "well if you can see it is messy, then wouldnt that remind you?"

One would think that, but sometimes I will go a week or more without it ever occuring to me that i might need to clean.

like, the thought is not even there.

Right down to the simplest of things like hygeine, as embarassed as I am to say sometimes it is weeks before i think of my toothbrush.

Dunno where else to put this..general question

I need routine. and I need a way to remind myself of these things that is not overwhelming - another problem Im having is when there is a large mess, it is simply too much for my brain to handle and I shut down and hide.

thoughts? Ideas? Im trying Dunno where else to put this..general question Dunno where else to put this..general question

There is no need to be embarrassed Rainbowzz .

How about keeping a diary/calendar/list of things to do. You know, number them according to priority for ex. Stick it somewhere you can't fail to see - e.g. kitchen? on a door? And tick them once they are done. That might help establish a routine...

You also put some sticky notes around: in the kitchen a reminder to do the shopping on Fridays, in the bathroom to brush teeth etc...

Rainbowzz, I understand and have been there too. Try the Flylady.net website. It was created by a lady who used to have a really cluttered house until she created daily routines that worked and tackled clutter for 15 minutes at a time. She advocates starting slow so that you don't burn out. I have come a long way by following her ideas for the past few years. She also sends out daily email reminders which I find helpful.

Yes.. I have am happy to say I love the Flylady myself! It is easy to become totally overwhelmed so try not be too critical of yourself... you can pull out of this and get on a routine ....GoodLuck!

How about stickers? Put something on your bathroom mirror that says brush your teeth and when you do write the date on the sticker? I don't know if that can maybe help...
