Guys I am just going to puberty now and I hate it. My voice gets crackly and I am getting pubic hair.(Please be mature and dont laugh) I hate acne the worst beacuse it makes me look awkward. But other words on a up side I am starting to get mature and I dont laugh at sexual terms any more nor do I do other childish things. Well can you guys help me get through this hectic time!? I just wish I could zap into my 20s where It can be over.

its nothing to be ashamed of, nor scared of. you will grow into a good young man, and like me, you have your whole life ahead of you.

it isnt nice to go through. it sends your emotions through the roof and completley mixes you up, but you'll get there.

Maybe a website full of your peers will be helpful.

This is one for teens, although I can't remember if you are twelve or thirteen but I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Face it, you are not unique, puberty is something that happens to us all, even in the animal kingdom, it's something that has been happening for millions of years and you'll survive, as others have.
I know it's awkward, but it shall pass.
If you keep fixating/obsessing on it, you are just going to make it more difficult. Juat hang in there,it's a natural part of life, part of several phases our bodies and brains go through. Try to feel lucky that you aren't of the female species, so many more things to deal with than males.
Take care now

Oh, that's soooo cute!!!! Please forgive me, L., but it's soooo cute..... (I promise I am NOT laughing).

To be honest, it never dawned on me to be frightened of puberty. I guess that's because I was in too much of a hurry to get into my first bra!
Uh oh Puberty!!!!

Although I really don't have anything to say (can't really; girls' experiences are so much different), I do want to let you know that I think you are brave to post this message, and incredibly self-aware for such a young man.

Since this is a process that you literally have no control over, just try to go with the flow (well, again, it's not a choice). But since you are so aware of your physiological (body) and psychological (mind) changes, try to maintain balance between logic and emotion. Going too much one way or the other can have adverse affects. The more aware you are, the better control you will gain over yourself as time goes on. This is a very important aspect of your personality that you ought to develop as you go forward through these years. You will be so much ahead of the game, if you can do this. It will also keep you out of alot of trouble that many teens your age begin to find themselves in at this stage.

Please keep posting. I would love to know how you are doing as you notice or experience each change.

And I abolutely promise that I will not say "that's soooo cute!" again. Except for that last time. In the sentence behind the last one - the one where I said "that's soooo cute!"

Stand tall, be proud, experiment with lots of different things that you are interested in and NEVER, EVER let anyone tell you that you are not smart. You got guts, kiddo, remember that!

Hi Luke,

I have found EXACTLY what you are looking for!! It is a program called "Adolescence - The Stormy Decade."

It explains what your body and mind are going through as you go through your teen years. It is really cool. I have been watching it because my boyfriend has 3 teen girl-monsters, and it is teaching me how to better relate to them instead of nagging them all the time - know what I mean?

Anyway, here is the website of Dr. Ron Clavier, who is the host of the show. Although it is directed at freaked-out parents, it is also great for ones your age, too. He is really funny and entertaining and easy to understand.

When you go to the website, look down the left-hand side and click on "Consulting and Educational Services." Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on "Download Session Topics." There, it lists the topic of each program. I think #1 and #3 are what you want to look at - they talk about the physical and mental changes of puberty. Each show is only 1/2 hour long, so you won't get bored to death. I don't know if you will get this show on any stations where you are (It is a Canadian station called CLT - Canadian Learning Television).

Anyway, I know you can order the programs. I have sent off an e-mail to see how much they cost. There might be books that you can read by him - he specializes in adolescent psychology and behaviours (cool stuff).

Will post you again when I hear back from the station. Here is Dr. Clavier's website:

www3.sympatico.ca/ronclavier/consul2.html

Let me know if you have any trouble finding it, or need help finding more info.

Later!

PS - Sorry 'bout the mushy stuff on my other post. I just couldn't help myself. It was soooo (ain't gonna say it!!)
Thought this might help you more than my other message!

Here is the rest of the info I mentioned about:

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, we do have that series for sale. Information and pricing is available at www.distributionaccess.com, just type "Adolescence" into the search field. It is available as a series or as individual episodes. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Lukeyeats,
I have been wondering, you seem pretty young as you said in your other posts. In one you even said you have a girlfriend. You seem pretty young for that. I am not sure of your age but guess younger than 15.

Hi Lukeyeats,

I am so glad you found the guts to come on here and talk about a subject that is so close to you. Just take one day at a time and before you know it, the years will fly by. Good luck to you and anytime you feel the need to talk, we will do all we can to help.

Have you seen Keeping the faith? It's a pretty good movie, but there is a scene in it where a kid is practicing for his barmitzva (a celebration of becomming 13). Anyhow... it talks about there is a reason that you have to do it at 13 because of all the crappy stuff you have to deal with. If you get a chance rent it!
