I'm just a little worried (more concerned) about the way my mind has been functioning lately. I'm always in a state of 'duh'. I know things are happening around me, but mostly I don't get a feeling or an effect from them (with some exceptions). For example, every other year when I look at our Christmas tree, I feel something, anything! Whether it's 'oh, those lights are pretty' or 'this feels cozy', but not this year. I don't really think my mind knew yesterday was Christmas. I can't comprehend things. It's really hard to explain... it's like I'm here, but I feel like I'm just floating around, non existing. A little worried... *sigh* Nevermind... I'm just confusing myself. Can anyone relate to this at all or am I just babbling?

Sounds like "dissociation" to me... when our minds sorta check out because they can't cope with what is going on around us.

I felt the same way the other day when looking at my rose bushes. They are my pride and joy, usually. I love them like my children. They didn't even look real to me at that time. I had no feelings of any kind.

If you have a T, I'd talk to that person about your feelings and get some help figuring out what's really bothering you. It's a scary feeling!!

Don't know what you "did" yesterday but it could have just been more of the "same" and not that noticeable? I knew it was Christmas but didn't have any thoughts/feelings about it this year other than going to dinner at my sister's which I only do once a year on Christmas :-)

But I hate getting "spaced out" so I can't really remember what I did that day or what "happened" nor can I remember what I was thinking about instead! It's uncomfortable to realize you have to have been "thinking" about something but have no clue about what. Maybe if you do a little writing that will help? Do you have a journal or anything?

I actually started a journal at the beginning of December because of this. If I don't write things down quickly I'll forget what happened. It is a scary feeling of being "space out". I'm also thinking about getting a small personal voice recorder to carry around with me so nothing important slips pass me.

I know all about that "disassociated" feeling. It happens to me often, and i know it can be scarey. I don't really know why it happens, I do have to talk to my doctor about it, tho
