everyone, 12, were killed and the pilot lived about 35 miles from me.......... Death in Iraq

i feel overwhelmed by so much pain for so many people. it's 24 families, 24 communities, probably several colleges, highschools, etc., churches, workplaces......it never ends. the grief just keeps rippling out for each slain soldier.......i've talked to as many relatives as possible today and all are in different degrees of shock. i think my moment is knowing that i disucssed the wreck, when it happened, with a boss.....never knowing Brian was killed in it....

My son knew the pilots.

And he probably had to do the accident investigation. He doesn't fly the blackhawks personally (and surely not the medivacs) but he does use them to fly from Baghdad to Tikrit when he isn't flying his Chinook. The chopper accidents (two of them this week) were not supposed to be aired by media like they were. Death in Iraq I, too, wondered when I heard... Death in Iraq

Such a small world.
