Keep on doing what you have always done..... just do not allow this problem to take the place of your friends and family - they all NEED YOU!!!

..... plus I try to allow myself one day a week that I will not get online - I do not even turn on the computer on that particular day.

last time I was here I took the depression quiz and took the results to my T and she told me not to put alot of stock in on line quizes they are for "checking in" with yourself but not meant as a "definative diagnostic tool" that that they are questions of a general population that MAY experience those things but they do not take into consideration the stuff that makes the person taking the quizes an indiviual and how they personally react to stress and such. I felt alot better about my score then, it didn't seem so bad.

so what happenes of you rarely meet any friends or talk to them-and the internet is your social escape?
ah! THAT`S a harder questions to unswer ...

but really i used to have it u think, and i set a certain amount of time for it.... and also shut down the computer. don`t turn it on fro the very morning if you don`t really need to. and if it`s on maybe you may want to replace it by listening to music... or such..

good luck.

Maybe have a think about your internet usage.

Is it leading to problems IRL?

Have a think about the problems...

And maybe have a think about what you get out of the internet...

Maybe keep some sort of log as to how much time you spend online.

There are probably ways in which you can comprimise.

Trying to be supportive, not too sure how...
I spend too much time online, too... On the other hand, I spend too much time biking, and people think that 30 miles a day is too much (indoors). Last summer I biked 50 miles a day, sometimes 75 miles or more in one day. A little bit obsessive. I guess one can do too much of anything.

Not to minimize your struggle. Other people have given you better thoughts than I could ever!

Just for YOU - I too took the test knowing very well that I would not pass - lol...... but then again that is on the days that I am online, but when I am off line and out of the hosue I do much better and I am inproving with each and every day.

Plus..... I know that I have issue that I am working on that stop ME from leaving my house, therefore, the Internet some times takes the place of RL activities / friends (for now).

My Results:

You scored a total of 24

Internet addiction possible
Based upon your responses to this quiz, it appears that you are likely experiencing fairly frequent issues related to your online use. This often occurs when individuals start exploring or using Internet resources (or game playing) to an extreme, without considering balancing them with their real-life needs.

Think of it like this... You generally don't spend 5 or 6 hours in front of the television, every night, nearly every day. Most people wouldn't think that's normal. So if you find yourself spending that amount of time online day after day and it's affecting your ability to interact in your real life, you should seek change or additional help.

First i'd like to thank you for showing and giving me support it maynot be as serious as so many other peoples problems but there was a reason for me getting so hooked on the computer. but thats for another forum. I have been doing alot better and realizing there is so many other things i could be doing like actually opening up a book and reading it maybe a little smutty one as well. lol Since ive taken notice of my problem. ive notice that my children are not reading any books other then whats assigned to them at school. well thats all changing since my kids are my world i plan to enhance it for them . so thank you once again for taking the time and addressing my issues small as it may be.
Secondly i wish you all the best on working on your issues with this and from what youve told me your improving everyday which is wonderful Internet Addiction Quiz

YOU are WELCOME.......

And please know that there is no such thing as a small problem to me, for if it interferes with your daily activity or relationships with loved ones then it is a PROBLEM.
