...a "fish out of water," and all the other cliches right now. My summer grad classes are over, and I'm here at home wandering around from room to room! Must get organized! I need structure or I get like this!
Oh, I have lots of hard jobs awaitng me...replacing kitchen flooring and painting or tiling my front porch, just don't wanna right now!
Can anyone identify?
Patty I'm at loose ends....

You're right, Bebop, sweetie! I do need a vacation. Problem is...I can't afford it! I am planning on going to Louisville this weekend to see my twin grandsons and daughter while her hubby is away with interview with FBI in Chicago. That will probably BE my only vacation this summer. The summer and coming fall tuition for my MA has sapped me dry, and now living till next paycheck on credit card! I honestly don't know how people afford expensive trips, cars and homes these days!
I have plenty to DO here, but kinda wishing for an exotic vacation...which will not happen!
Love
Patty

Take a mental health break -- read romances or mysteries -- watch silly TV shows or videos -- lounge on the sofa or the porch swing drinking tall glasses of ice tea and eating chocolate -- go for a walk in the park with the dogs -- make bookmarks out of old greeting cards and paint glitter on them -- wear you pajamas all day -- and don't feel guilty about any of it.

Hugs and hugs and hugs and hugs.

PS -- When the semester is over and the grading is in the to the registrar and all the students' complaints have been handled, I generally spend two or three days in my recliner before I'm even conscious again.

I've been going back to the university this week to paint in the studio there, working on a watercolor portrait of my twin grandsons, age 5....Though the summer session is over, it's fine with the painting professor that I come up there, and he even visited me today for a long chat about art, dogs, his family, etc.- This isn't costing me a penny, except the gas to drive there, and I love being on the summer MU campus, so this is one thing I'll continue to enjoy.
My portrait of the twins is almost done, and I'll take a pic of it and post it in the photo gallery here when finished.
I'm also settling down a bit and focusing on things needing attentioin here at home. I guess I'm weary of the home-improvement stuff, as I just moved in last summer and it's been one project after another, but looking pretty good now.
Thanks to all of you for the kind and wise suggestions!
Love
Patty
