Hii. Sorry if I post too much :/
I think I just feel really left out. It feels hard seeing people around me form friendships, romantic relationships, bonds with their family members. I've never had any of that since I was really young. For quite a few years, I've just sat in my house all day. Drawing used to be my comfort, but I don't enjoy it anymore. Now, I kind of just sit in bed, and watch Netflix or YouTube.
I feel like I'm starting to give up on forming social relationships. and I know that's bad. I feel anxious around ppl and try to avoid confronting them out of fear of saying something stupid or weird, or them not liking me. I can't find a group that i fit in with. i'm going to college this fall and I'm definitely scared cause of these things.

I can relate a lot to the things you say. I'm really sorry you're struggling so much with social interactions.

Do you see a therapist? have you tried with some self-help books that could possibly teach you some social skills?

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. There's definitely hope. Mickey has some good ideas...therapy or self-help books. If you are in therapy or even if you aren't you could try exposure therapy to build up to being comfortable in social interactions. You could go at your own pace. Good luck in college and best wishes. I hope you have many successful relationships.

I did go to my school therapist once before high school was over, but I don't go anymore. :/ Do self-help books really work? With social skills too?

Self help books only affect you if you do the work.

I read the entire series of "The Artist's Way"

Really changed my thinking, although looking back it was bs, but at the time it was what I needed.

Hi. Feel free to post as much as you wish. No need to apologize. I totally understand where you're coming from and can definitely relate to what you're saying. I'm sorry you're struggling with these issues. However, you never know what the future may hold. You may find yourself in a group of people who share your interests and are accepting of you without even seeking to do so. It's a big world and there's room for everyone. There are people like you out there and I think it's only a matter of time before you find a place where you feel comfortable and embraced. You deserve to find that place. Just keep exploring your interests and believing in your dreams. I'd like to wish you the best in your academic pursuits. Whatever you set your mind to, it can be done.

I have never been good at socializing, and have always isolated myself and sat the empty table at lunch. Maybe you could try starting a conversation with someone by complimenting their shoes or something

Aw, just give it time. College is sure to present new opportunities and can really help you in discovering who you are and where you want to be in life. I know being in a new environment can be scary but it can also give you a fresh outlook on things and the chance to meet people similar to you. A little change may be just what you need to create that spark that inspires you to dream. Remember you are never actually alone. Ever. There are always resources you can benefit from and people who can listen to you and understand. These forums are available to you. Help is never really far away. Best wishes.

Yeah! I am a little excited because i hate where i live at the moment + i see it as a way to start over in my life Also, thanks! I see people on here that can relate so it makes me feel less weird lol
And I do try to start conversations sometimes, but end up kinda. making it awkward or running away.
