I accidently fell asleep with the radio on but the car engine off. Well, when I woke up, I thought it was getting a little cool and decided to turn on the car and get some heat for a bit. I always turn everything off before starting the car if it's not already, so off went the radio. Turn the key, and tho I hear a sound for a second, all is dead after that--no lights, no sound, nothing. I let things rest for a while--a few times throughout the wee morning hours--but no luck. I finally covered a little warmer and went back to sleep.

I called the Chevy Roadside Service in the morning. They arrived ahead of schedule and he quickly jump-started my car! I was/am sooooo happy!!!!! Had a car scare during the night Had a car scare during the night Had a car scare during the night I was so afraid that what if a jump wouldn't work, what if the altinator or something else?! I was so scared about how much something more could cost. I regularly email the people at my fave radio station with little comments and such and during the night was no exception telling them that my car died and I'd miss their morning show, LOL. Had a car scare during the night So, I pulled out my trusty phone to update them on the status of my car that it should be okay. I got a fast reply back (rare for them to reply) that they were very glad to hear that, yaahoooo! They worry a little about me since they know my situation.

I said a few prayers during the night that my car would be okay, and I am still thanking God for the positive results. I had to reschedule an interview from this morning to this afternoon, but it all worked out (interview went well, btw).

I worry about you too. Glad your car started! That must have been scary. Do you park in the same place every night, or move around? I'm really glad that you have a way to communicate - phone and e-mail and radio. That has to help a little.

Hi Inkblot,

I am glad that all it needed was a jump, and not something like a new battery or like you said the alternator.

It was nice of the Radio station to return your request, that would be a happy thing as well Had a car scare during the night

I am happy it all worked out in your favor, and that you have it up and running again. Best Wishes- Chris
