Pyewacket is a member from Canada who has applied to the community fund drive and her request was approved for $500.00.

She is in desperate need to cover her bills, to get insurance for her car so she can drive it legally to get her appointments, do the laundry, etc. In addition, money will be used to buy a used washer and dryer so she can save money on her laundry and car fuel bills. She also owes a fair amount in rent, but feels that with this infusion of cash, it can help her get above water and get back on track.

She is on a disability pension and is a single, divorced mom.

Please consider donating to our community fund to help Pyewacket out.

Psych Central will match dollar for dollar of every dollar donated (up to the maximum of $250). Every dollar counts, so even if you can afford just $5, please consider this request.

The easiest way to donate is to send money via PayPal to:

donations@psychcentral.com

Oh, and a reminder...

If you can't donate, please don't feel badly! Everyone is in a different place in their lives, and that's understandable.

But feel free to give her well wishes here in this thread to let you know you care.

Thanks,
DocJohn

Good luck and God bless, Pyewacket! Wish I could have sent more but living on Disability already means too much month left for my money. However, I've been where you are and I know every penny counts!

Yes, I think Liviant, LLC; that's what the PayPal account says now too.

I have a question in regard to community fund drives.

If I make a contribution, can I do so anonymously? What I mean by that is... I post under an anonymous guise. I prefer it to stay that way. Will the host, administrators or moderators know who I am if I share my personal data via a community fund drive?

The only way to send completely anonymously is to send us a money order to the mailing address listed above.

If you pay by PayPal, we will see the email address you registered with PayPal, as well as your name. We do not do anything with this information, but there is a record of it.

Yes, all checks or money orders should be made out to Liviant LLC.

Thank you all for your kindness and generosity!! We have already received $150, only need another $100 to finish this drive out. If you are sending a money order or check, please drop me a PM to let me know it's on its way.

Thank you for your honest disclosure.

What you seem to be saying is that, essentially, as long as I don't link my user name here in any way with my donation, that no one will really know who I am. To be sure, there will be a record but there's no way of knowing that "John Doe" is also "spiritual_emergency". That's all I need to know.

Otherwise, Pyewacket... I don't know who you are, but I do know that you're a human being. I also know that to be a human being is sometimes, a very difficult thing. There have been times in my own life when I've had to lean on others. I was grateful for what they had to offer to me in those times.

For a while, I also felt badly about the neccessity of my leaning until I had the opportunity to be the one who was leaned upon. It was then that I realized that every gift is twofold. In giving, we receive and in receiving, we give. I will give freely in this moment and trust that when you have the opportunity to do the same, you will do so. When you give, it may not be to me. But maybe it will be someone like me, or someone like you -- each of us, human. I also, respectfully acknowledge that of all the gifts we have to give to one another, that which is purely monetary is probably the least of them.

Therefore, I thank you for the gift of your humaness, because it gives me the opportunity to recognize my own and be okay with it. I can be wounded. I can be vulnerable. I can be needy. And that's okay. To be human is to sometimes, go through some very difficult times and I think this is a really wonderful idea.

A tip of the hat is also owed to DocJohn, who seems to be one of those human beings who really has his heart in the right place.
