Just take it slow and careful - I'm sure little Jeremy's fine.

I've done the same thing with my kids. I know it makes you feel bad, but the important thing is that he is ok. It happens.

((((((((((((((( bowzz ))))))))))))))))))

I did the SAME thing with my oldest when she was just a few days old. I accidentally cut Bub's thumb :( :( Well, I was cutting nails and cut too deep...she bled too. I accidentally cut Bub's thumb :( :(

I was afraid too and starting biting her nails...did all my kids that way. I would just bite the corner of those paper thin nails and they just peel away nicely...no sharp corners that way either.

He's fine, sweetie, and I know how that feels.

KD

I cut my son before he was 24 hours old and felt like I ruined his perfect little un-stabbed body. I hate to admit it but I too bit the baby's nails until I could clearly see them and cut them. It is difficult when they are so brand new. He is not scarred for life.

Hang in There Rainbow - You and your Baby Boy will recover quickly from this mishap....... and just think, at least you did not accidently slam the car door on his hand when he was four years old.

I still have flash backs of that awful moment in time and I hate it.

I'd like to know of a mother who hasn't cut their baby's finger while trying to clip those almost invisible little things.

Baby books recommend that mama bite off the finger nails. I accidentally cut Bub's thumb :( :(

My friend's sister has had a baby, he's two months old now, and not long after he was born I saw him and asked about how they kept his nails short, and they said that his nails are so weak and thin they just break off anyway and they don't have to trim them...

((((((((( Rainbowzz )))))))))))

Don't worry about cutting him, he'll be fine and it was an accident I accidentally cut Bub's thumb :( :( If you're not happy about the baby nail clippers, maybe you could return them to the company who makes them and write saying you think they're unsafe?

Babies tend to scratch mom's breast and their own faces when they are brand new. In THE OLD DAYS, we had sleeves with pull over cuffs to cover the hands so they could not scratch. By the time they are finding their thumbs and fingers the nails are no longer a problem. I wish I had known how soft the nails were and how the tip of the finger looks just like the nail. I know, my son will be in therapy for life for that one. (JOKE)

Rainbowzz, that his tiny cut has wounded you so deeply is, for lack of a better word or phrase, so damn cute.

You're going to be a great mom.

Congrats on the baby!!!! I've been offline for a while and haven't had the opportunity to say that yet. As for the nails, when my baby's were small, I chewed their nails off to avoid this problem. Sounds weird, but it was the advice I got and worked like a charm!
