Well I'm currently 14 years old turning 15 but i have this one big problem ever since like 2nd grade. I have dark circles under my eyes evers since then. I have searched about under eye circles and know most things about them, like how you can have them if you don't get enough sleep, which is not true for me becuase i had them for my whole life for years. It also says online that if the skin under your eyes is very thin then the veins and showing through making it darker around your eyes. I know that i have some sort of allergies which my doctor says and is true because my whole family has alergies including my mom who has a severe one. But the thing is I'm only 15 and been with this problem for soo long. Why do I have it at this age. I thought that you only had them when you're gettign old. If this problem is normale then why have i never met someone that has the same problem my age or even people older them me. not even old people i see haev them. The bad part is my under eye circles are really bad. Its not just mild, like i can tell that the skin underneath is very thin but why?I have a few questions that i would like answered if you don't mind:

1) Why do I have under eye circles? Why do I have them this young?

2) Is there anything I can do to make them less visible or possibly go away without using makeup?

3) What would be the reason that the skin under my eyes are very thin? (because it seema like its getting thinner every year)

4) If i get my alergies treated, would they be less visible? Would the skin under my eyes possibbly get thicker?

***If I have allergies, i have never seen anything to what i might be alergic too. I noticed that I sneeze sometimes but nothing that makes me go on and on with sneezing. But like this week i got these really bad rashes and puffeness all around my body but i took some of these alergy pills and they went away by he following week**

Please PLease help me out on this, I have been researching and dealing with this problem for years. There has to be a reason why I have them this young, not to mention that they are really bad. Like I got punched or soemthing. I am so tired of applying concealer after concealer. I'll email back for any questions you want to knwo about me. But I really need help!!

I'm sorry that you have the problem with the dark circles....I'm not qualified to really help you, but I wanted to ask you if you've gone to your family doctor or a dermatologist? A dermatologist would probably be able to shed light on the circles. Have you had any medical tests and does anyone else in your family have the same problem?
Wish I could help more. Pat

Sweetie:

I've been plagued with the same problem since childhood. Sometimes it's hereditary, and that has to start somewhere even if there is no one else in your family that has them.

My grandfather has them, my mother has them, her two siblings have them, and I have them. I suggest seeing a dermatologist or your family M.D. to see if there is any underlying problem, with me, there was none, if you're like that...

I suggest buying a really good undereye concealer to help minimize.

Good luck,
Kimberly.

Baggy eyes runs in my family. Do you think you may be exaggerating the problem a bit? During our teenage years, how we look is super super important. Things that bothered me about the way I looked when I was younger don't matter a boot now.

I agree, the undereye circles are no big deal to me now but it bothered me some as a young teenager, because it made me look old or tired. Now I just feel lucky to be alive.

I think it's more important to feel confident in who you are, not what you look like. Beauty is not skin deep, as some like to say. It can be built from the inside.

I understand how you feel. I was a fair skinned, red cheeked blond with purple/black under the eyes. it bothered me lots too. it was because of allergies somewhat, but i think mostly hereditary.

nothing i did worked to lessen them. the only thing i can suggest is to continue with the concealer ( a good yellow works best for me - maybellene). Try to remember, there's so much more to you than circles under your eyes. when i look back at the things that bothered me as a teen, i wouldn't let them worry me knowing what i know today. i felt awful about appearance alot and it kept me back. now, as an adult, i look back on it and was even a bit cute and didn't know it.

no one else concentrates on those circles as you might think they are. we all have our special things, good and bad...dark circles aren't good, but they certainly don't fall into the bad category. look past those circles and see the whole of you! i think you'll like what you see

If I might interject here, sometimes it's just pigmentation of the skin, especially if you've got olive skin. Your best bet is to see your doctor and see what he says. There could be a number of reasons for your dark circles but I wouldn't think it's anything life threatening. Please post back to me one this!! I need everyones help!!

If you're anemic you can have dark circles also.

Dont worrie.. im 17 i have very thin skin around my eyes.. i do get enough sleep im sure of it, from sleeping in some times.. ahem 4 times. I do have blue veins near my eyes so thats why i got dark circles around my eyes.... A basic cover up helps... Dont try eating more to get fat there cause it doesnt work.. im 200lbs and still have them.. and chubby cheeks added to it... its perfectly normal.. be glad i have a friend who has red circles around her eyes.... she looks stoned all the time.. even though she does not do drugs...

if u drink alot of pop try cutting down.. or quit drinking caffene.. caffeene dialates ur blood vessles making the circles look darker.. i once had 7 pops on day my co workers at the nursing home thought i got punched...

hope this helps
