Did you know that there is a species of Central American hummingbird that weighs less than a penny? It's called the Bee Hummingbird and it lives in the Cuban Archipelago and is thought to be the smallest species of bird in the world.

Did you know that while the hippopotamus is a herbivore and normally dines on grasses along the banks of the rivers where they live, male hippos are known on the very rare occasion to attack and eat hippo calves if they have one spec of suspicion that they didn't father it? There have also been reports of hippos eating carrion if they find it along the river they inhabit, though this behavior is especially rare.

Did you know that dogs aren't carnivores like their wolf ancestors, but have evolved from them to adopt a more omnivorous diet? They can and do eat a variety of vegetables, which is thought to stem from the fact that they don't have access to herbivorous prey and the stomach contents within them.

The Chinese Giant Salamander's average weight is 55-65 lbs. it makes barking and whining or crying sounds. I don't know how to post pictures but I looked it up on Wikipedia after seeing it in a children's book,

Snakes with venom are venomous, not poisonous.

However, some garter snakes in Oregon eat a certain type of newt that is poisonous, and therefore, through ingesting those newts, the snakes themselves become poisonous (i.e. you will be poisoned if you eat said snakes).
