Happy to have completed two weeks of eating healthy in moderation. I wish i wasn't so preoccupied with food, tho.

StandUp2Me: so sorry to hear you're still struggling. Hope you have a better day today. When i feel the urge to binge rise up i remember it will all be worth it in the end. Would this help?

This might sound really weird, but everytime I feel like I am slipping I've started to brush my teeth or chew gum.
I won't want to mess up my teeth after I just brushed them, and if my mouth is full of gum I get flavour and mouth feel

Brushing teeth definitely helps me if I have the will power to do something I know will curb my eating. I can’t chew gum and can’t find anything to curb my appetite except to load up on celery or carrots (something crunchy). Good for you that you are brushing your teeth. You are trying.

I had three WASA crackers, eight slices of white turkey lunch meat – so far, 2 slices of pound cake I hate it when someone brings sweets to work and pleads with everyone to have some. I will have salmon and salad tonight. I am SO hungry. Maybe I’ll add a chocolate whey protein shake with water and frozen strawberries to fill up. I promised my husband I would work out again tonight for ½ hour. I keep telling myself it doesn’t have to be a superwoman workout just because I look like a super big woman. I am twice the size I should be.

Oh I hate when people do that that. "Oh come on, just a little taste, it won't kill you"...or the "I baked this myself"

Good luck Standup2me!

I had the worst awful intense hunger before lunch. I don't know why but it didn't occur to me to eat my emergency granola bar. Finally i had lunch and i took an extra sandwich to have mid-afternoon as i knew i couldn't cope with another episode of hunger. The afternoon went better. Note to self.

I had a protein shake with breakfast and my hunger was less. I still had a mid-afternoon sandwich, tho. It was probably a mistake. Oh well, it's only the third week of my diet and i am still getting used to eating healthy in moderation. The good thing is i was not all stressed-out by hunger when i got home and was able to take my dog out for a good long time.

I was so upset about this guy who bugs me that i binged. But it was just a small binge: most of a large bag of chips. I must say, it was a lost less pleasureable than i thought it would be.

I'm not too worried because an eating disorders psychologist explained that if you eat a healthy diet, occasional indulgences are okay as they just get eliminated as waste. I've been eating healthy for 18 days. Now i'll just try and beat that number!

Also, thanx for the encouragement Standup2me. I don't talk about my diet with my friends IRL because i don't want them to look at me cross-eyed if i decide to eat a chocolate bar so it's nice to have some kind words here.

I am darn proud of myself today.
BF bought one of those trays of cinnamon buns with cream cheese
icing...and I ate grapes!

And darn it those grapes were good

Go me!!!!!!

It was my weekly weigh-in this morning and i got more good news! I'm thrilled because this week was pretty lousy with a few extra meals and one binge. Wow, i am so relieved!

Standup2me: grapes instead of cinnamon buns -- way to go! You rock!

I gave my body healthy food, had a shower and read.

Feeling good that i resisted bingeing yesterday but uneasy that i was so close. It's a cool sunny day here and i am making another pot of veggie soup. The onions smell wonderful!

I'm depressed because of the empty holiday weekend so i treated myself to a restaurant meal as i've been craving one. I just went to Denny's. The meal was lousy and unpleasant. At least i slaked my craving and will be more content to eat at home now. I fought off the desire for a specialty coffee after at Starbuck's -- glad about that.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving with a big meal, we take food to the
food bank. This year we gave coffee, toothbrushes, combs, soap and shampoo.
They said they always need those

It makes me feel good to help

I hope you won your battle, Standup2me. I lost. It was just too difficult being Canadian Thanxgiving and i was alone all weekend. I binged on chocolate, chips and pizza. Sigh! Today is a new day.

I am really lucky in that. We don't celebrate with a big meal, but use the money that it would cost and buy food for the food bank instead

It's been awhile since I've been here. Hope everyone is doing well.

I have not been able to sit at a computer for any length of time. I had a lower back injury and I couldn't sit, stand, walk, lay down and was in chronic pain 24/7 until just this week I started to have some relief. Anyway, it is obvious that I must stick to a healthy diet and loose weight or the back injury will continue to reoccur as it has the past few years. It recurs more frequently and each time the pain gets worse and lasts longer. The extra weight only compounds the condition if it isn't cause of it.

I am really motivated now to eat smaller portions. I am afraid to workout or walk for too long so have been sleeping more again. I feel I have very little control over my health. I'll just take one day a time.
