Alright so I've been through a ton this past year. But im feeling really great. I feel like I need to work on my eating habits.

I tend to binge eat somewhat. To get around this I just don't by any foods that cause me to binge. Sweets, chips, tortillas, breads etc or anything that's quick to cook like frozen pizza or hot pockets!

it's been mildly successful this way. But the problem is that I don't know what to eat. So I go through periods of not eating much to binging on garbage.

Sometimes I'll buy a little bit of something because I want to make a certain dish and I will end up just binging on the ingredient :'( like i wanted to make tacos but I binge ate all the tortillas.

Today I bought honey to use in making some dog biscuits. I used a little and now I've almost finished off the bottle. :-(

I'm a little overweight but not much. Like 5 or 10 lb over weight maybe. I'm 5'11 and about 195lb.

Any thoughts? Tips? Suggestions?

I try to work WITH this attribute of mine, rather than against it. Like i make oatmeal for breakfast everyday with dried fruit and nuts and coconut oil and topped with yogurt or ricotta. Not really anything in there i will binge eat - like i will get sliced almonds, not walnuts, cuz otherwise yeah i WILL binge eat walnuts or whole almonds, but not sliced almonds. I cant get strawberry or maple yogurt because a 4 serving container becomes one serving. And forget honey - its been years since ive had honey in my house.

You ARE allowed to be hungry and have good meals!! I made a big change in my life just by starting to have breakfast all the time. Never had it when i was a kid, never made time for it when i worked.
Thanks for this!

Binge eating Tips

My binge eating disorder started when I
was a toddler and exploded pfull pforce
when I was 11 years old. I'm 55 now,
and still trying to make peace with pfood!

Eating disorders are only the tip of the iceberg
though, a therapist will help you pfigure out what
is causing you to binge eat in the pfirst place.

It may still be a struggle to overcome, especially
if deep seated and long term ... But at least you
won't be in the dark about what's pfeeding it any
more ...

No Pun Intended There!

Sincerely,
Pfrog!

Thanks for this!

Yeah. So i try to get enough protein. It really cuts the sweets cravings. Like i get a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, or already made turkey meatballs - they are by the raw turkey but they are just heat and eat. Alsoi get hard boiled eggs already made - my version of deviled eggs is one egg and a pickle, alternating bites! i use a lot of paper plates otherwise i get bogged down and the dishes stack up. So thats 2 meals. My third meal will be a big salad or microwaved veggies - last night i heated up two bags of brussels sprouts - one plain, one "seasoned", then mixed them together. So its still kind of a binge, cuz its a large amount, but hey its veggie.

Like with the meatballs, i will heat them up with a half can of veggie chili (quinoa and black beans).

Im pretty much one bowl meals. I live alone. A snack then will be fruit or nuts. I try not to get too hungry. I do need to exercise more. I make iced tea by just putting 3 tea bags, like a green tea, a lady grey, and a honey vanilla camomile, in a 32 ounce reusable water bottle and set it in the freezer for ten minutes. Or i use crystal lite grape or lemon or tangerine mango.

But i also have a cup or two of cocoa / coffee every day. And chocolate in some other form at least twice a week.
Thanks for this!

Wow sounds a lot like me. I've been doing the paper plate thing. It helps me a lot. I was doing hard boiled eggs for a while too. I felt really good when I was in that phase lol

I guess I just need to take another inventory of foods that I won't binge and make recipes based on that.

One thing I started doing (and didn't realize) was substituting salt for foods i liked. I was getting all poofy, bloated and swollen and it was because of the salty foods and plain salt o was eating.

OK thanks for your input. I have renewed zeal now :-D

That's all I want too. To just be at peace with the food lol

But yea I do have a therapist. We've talked about it a bit but mostly I've been dealing with other parts of my life. I think I'm ready to improve my eating habits now.

I am 5 foot 1 and 140 pounds. I used to be very thin but I binge a lot usually on snacks, cereal, or macaroni and cheese. It gives me bad reflux.
