the word personality means the mental aspects -trait (ditiguishing features) and charateristics and behaviors of a person such as moods (feelings) - quiet, loud happy sad rambunctious rude polite, excited, depressed and so on. someone with a borderline personality is someone who has trouble keeping their moods stable and even. basically jumping from one to another and to the extreme like sudden bursts of anger or saddness, fear. suicidal and self mutilation activities and always feeling like they are missing something (emptylike). Id go with your therapist or get a second opinion by doing a comprehensive psychological Evaluation with a psychiatrist. like you said no one here is a therapist and can tell you either way if you have borderline or not. thats up to the professionals.

yeah i have bpd and being split is a good way to put it. i sometimes feel like i have 2 personalities, one good and one evil, you know like dr. jekyl and mr. hyde? if you are getting suspicious that you don't think it;s borderline, what do you think? if you want get a second opinion, because borderline can be a generic label to some drs. anyway hun good luck, if you really have borderline i can offer some good books to read. there are also good links about info on borderline.

The best thing to do is to talk to your therapist about your mixed up thoughts and anything else that concerns you. You can certainly do all the research that you like too, and take it along with you to talk about with your therapist. We don't know nearly as much about you, so whatever we tell you needs to be weighed and considered with that in mind.

Messed up thoughts can often be part of Borderline Personality Disorder. BPD was called that because it tends to mimic lots of other mental disorders, so it seems like people with BPD are bordering on many different things which could include mania, depression, psychosis, dissociative disorders, etc. A lot of the same or similar symptoms can happen. You might want to click on "disorders" in the menu bar and do a little bit of reading. Then discuss anything that stands out to you with your therapist.

Good Luck, and let us know how it goes,
Rap
