Well see Ive been kinda like a tomboy all my life, and Ive tried to change for my mother. So she wasnt disappointed. But I cant take the jocky preppy kinda thing anymore. I mean Im the girl who is into all the peircings tattoos skateboarding.I love hanging with jsut my guy friends.. Gurls are somewhat annoying at times so I tend to stay away from em..but im afraid to tell my mom that im not who she wants me to be and ive lost myself tryin to make her proud.. what should I do.. am i being selfish or not?

What I want to know is, do you have any plans for the rest of your life? You know what you like to do now, but what would you like to be doing five or ten years down the road? What would you like to accomplish with your life? Your goals, and your life, should be yours. Your parents and others should help you as guides, and not make your choices for you. It isn't selfish to be yourself and have your own style, interests, choose your friends, etc. Just make sure that what you are doing now is compatible with your hopes for the rest of your life. Your mother probably cares about you and wants what she thinks is best for you. Mothers can also be pushy and try to live through their children and try to turn their children into what they wanted to be themselves. There is no way for me to know what is the case for you. Maybe some of both. My advice is to be yourself, but remember to plan for the future, and look for what may be helpful in your mother's advice too. How does that sound?

I'm not sure I can add anything to Rapunzel's post...just wanted you to know I read your post...It is hard to see this all...In the present trying to figure it out and for the future what things you can do now to align with how to get there.
In high school I played many roles...Mostly the achiever, played football for awhile, then started with hanging with the crowd that smoked...yea we could actually smoke outside the school building...
