I want to try to clear up some of my thoughts on why "people" don't like borderlines. We are reservoirs of pain and fear. Many so-called "normal" people, who have "succeeded" in life by blocking memories of their own early pain and fears, react to us with anxiety, because they dimly remember their own. Some of these may start to re-examine themselves; others will turn their hostility on us, because it is easier to attack us with our fears than it is to remember their own, and to remember those who caused those fears. We who are struggling to conquer our fears really are better off than those who still are denying theirs.

More thoughts: some borderlines replicate in their behavior what was done to them as children. Naturally this will frighten many "normal" people and others who react to them as though they were parents rather than seeing what underlies their actions.
