Taking abreak from life Good morning group, I have basically been in my bedroom for 3 yrs. Ina way I want togo out and live again, with all the past crap I amaffraid that it will just be more of the same. After seeing death, being abused, all my freinds stab me in the back, very disfunctional family. I was cutting through all this, for the last couple of yrs. I have not. In large part to being away from life. I don't really know what to do. I don't want to be hurt and I don't want to keep living in my bedroom. Maybe oneday I will be like my smiley. It has been a while. Take care, Greg

Small steps, greg. Do you have a t that you go to? If not you might want to start there. If you, keep going. I applaud you for wanting to move forward--it's hard and scary. Taking a chance--on anything--is one of the hardest things we have to do in life, yet that's what life is about. We take a chance daily--some may be bigger chances than others though. Maybe you could try a support group; that way you are starting small. Remember you are always safe here.

I've tried as best as possible to isolate myself from the world too. On the rare occasions I do get the balls to venture out, it usually goes as expected and reminds me yet again of why I hide in the first place. So I hear where you're coming from.
Thanks for this!

Yes, Greg, small steps and remember everything will be a learning process. Your upbringing left you with not knowing how to handle a lot of things. The only way to get from where you are to where you want to be is to try, analyze your results, learn, make changes and try again. You will get there if you try and work it.
