I have been coping with flashbacks for years now, it takes over everything in my life. I have tried emdr it didnt work though, and talking about it is too hard, so i just take anti anxiety meds, sleeping pills, anti depressants etc. Does it ever end? or am I destined to live in the past forever?

If you are still dealing with this stuff unsuccessfully, then only therapy with someone who is expert in PTSD will give relief. I can't do EMDR either. It's taking forever... but I am still the same age I'd be if I hadn't been going through therapy. Yes, in the long beginning I didn't even realize I was having flashbacks, only feeling the after effects? Things are "better" now... and I recognize many of the triggers ... no, there is no cure for PTSD. sigh. sorry.
