I've been in therapy about a year now, and i thought that I'd dealt with a lot of issues that I've been struggling with. I guess I haven't 'really' talked to my T about much of anything, except surface stuff. Today's session was a series of triggers, and I broke down crying. I felt pretty vulnerable today. Still do, actually. I think my Partner now understands how anything can be a trigger for me. I'm scared of feeling so vulnerable, but I'm hopeful that one day I can get past all the bad stuff.

Yes, it can get to where the trauma doesn't intrude (triggers etc) into your everyday life. I know the vulnerable feelings. I'm glad you have a safe place to discuss things, and a T that you trust. (((hugs)))

magickal1,

I know therapy can seem like a long process and it is painful too.

It is good that you have an understanding partner by your side.

Hang in there! It's worth sticking with therapy.

Hugs

I am so glad that you have a Partner that understands what you are going through. It is great that you are hopeful about your therapy. It sounds like your last session was very productive.

Hello,

I really want to say two things. One, it is wonderful and you can be proud of the courage you are showing in facing yoru triggers and admitting to your feelings. In my experience, that was half the battle -- admitting to it all and being aware of it. The other thing is I wanted to offer you hope. You can get past the bad stuff and with work and support you will be triggered by fewer things and you will come to cope better with triggers that take more effort to overcome. You are worth it and you deserve to heal. I know personally how vulnerable it can feel, but if you stay with your recovery process, it will get better.

Be well,

mtd
