Hi Everyone

I was recently triggered in a chatroom and I am having a hard time dealing with what had been discussed. The discussion brought back alot of painful memories for me and is causing my hypersensitivity to my health and well being to flare up again. To the point I haven't been able to sleep at all tonight. It's 5am and I haven't slept at all. Loads of flashback memories have surfaced.

I dont have a MH team at the moment. Any advice, comments, or suggestions on how to cope would greatly be appreciated.

Thank-you,

Zen888

Hi Zen, I would say that if you are not feeling too good then the chat room is probably not the place to be. Particularly if the room is crowded and you don't know what the topic is going to be. If you really want to go to chat it would be best to PM a trusted friend and open a private room.

Please see your Doc about meds to help you sleep.

Hugs

(((((((((((((((zen)))))))))))))))) I am so sorry you were triggered!! You are such a supportive and strong person and anytime you need an ear, I'm here.

In the meantime....try some of the grounding techniques that have helped you in the past or borrow some of mine. Take a few minutes of deep breathing....slow and steady...try to meditate...pray...tell yourself these intense feelings will soon be in your past, think of things that make you happy and peaceful. If those feelings start coming back picture yourself physically kicking them as hard as you can way out of your reach.

Take care my friend

Imj sorry you were triggered - I stay out of the chat rooms for the same reason -

grounding techniques are good - there are some on a sticky at the top of these threads - keeping busy is good - exercising so you are really tired helps - holding ice in your hand - reminding yourself that this is not happeneing now - this is part of the past and you survived that so you can survive this

I hope you feel better soon
