my husband and i have both been diagnosed with depression im nearly about to come of my meds, hes ownly been on meds know for 5wks for the first month he was on citalpram and docs have changed this to prozac we are seperated but still good friends trying to sort out our mess this week hes been very down how long before this stage passes

different people respond differently to meds. it will usually take a couple of weeks or so for an anti-depression to kick in. good luck, pat

thanks i think in going to need all the luck that i can find, it would be easier tp help him trough these dark days if he would trust me enough to help but hes not told anybody what set this of its to do with a ex friend but what trigered this we dont know he was ok for 6wks untill last tue when something made this problem get stuck in his train of thoughts and he cant shift its stopping him being able to spend tome with his family as hes scared to walk down the street (we are seperated and this friend was involved) we are friends were trying to sort out our problems untill all this kicked of he living at his parents up the road this friend lives next door to me

Hi Kathryn. It was about 4-5 months for my antidepressants to fully kick in. My body seems resistant to drugs. I also have a very low pain thresh hold.I am now on 2 antidepressants along with Abilify, and Klonopin. Xanax methadone, and Flexeril for chronic pain.

I'm sorry life is so hard for you and your husband. Better times are ahead. change in meds
