nope nope nope. I don't believe you, sorry. But definitely take the break if you feel like you need one. I'll miss you (but will be offline for the next week anyway, so don't be surprised if I don't post an MIA for you -- I'll be out of the country).

I'm really wondering where your priorities are right now, no offense. Do you really want to risk your mental health and go downhill A LOT in exchange for some booze? I understand that you want to be able to share in the celebration with your family, but c'mon if you don't take your meds, you may not be able to celebrate at all. Just a little something to think about.

Bethy,

Hey, what's all this about you not being worth taking care of properly after you've been in chat with me trying to get me to take proper care of myself by eating breakfast and all that? You're worth taking good care of, and that includes following your doctor's prescribed treatment.

I really don't see why people feel they need alcohol to enjoy a party/event/situation/etc. I mean, I get it when they're in so much pain, they just want to numb themselves, or get whatever effect they get from the alcohol, but it's just sad if a person feels they can't enjoy something in life without alcohol. I also understand if a person is addicted, but a lot of people feel alcohol is needed who aren't addicted.

I don't think alcohol is a bad thing--if you drink responsibly, there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy it now and then. I just don't get people, like a lot of college kids, who binge drink and think it's just a part of being young. Putting yourself in danger or endangering others is just stupid. I know not everyone who drinks, even heavily, binge drinks, but I'm just saying that practice is stupid.

And back to the meds...if you don't want to be on meds, that's fine. There's no reason a person shouldn't try living without them (I'm going to). But you don't go cold turkey when you've been on them. You have to reduce the dosage slowly, and wean yourself off that way.

Wait - everybody - Bethy was NOT saying that she NEEDS alcohol. I can see how she feels chastised. However, the irony in this thread has not escaped me :|

FYI ~ I started back on my meds Sunday morning. They are making me feel very laggy and tired. But it should wear off in a couple weeks if I remember right. The bad side effect of the one is that you get some bad tummy cramps with it.

Thanks for the support and encouragement
