With the withdrawling cold turkey off of meds, these two are two of them that i was stoped abruptly on.
What i'm wondering is, i keep breaking out in a sweat and going through a massive panic attack, over nothing but sitting here listening to soft calming music.
Which would work best to rid me of the panic attacks for now? and how much would usually work to someone who has been taking them together for a long time (not including the hydromorphone, and cymbalta that i was stoped on abruptly at the same time.)?
A tiny background of just the two, I normaly was taking 1mg-2mg of Klonopin a night, along with 2mg of xanax a night. (along with the other meds they stoped me on), but i need something to stop this. and it also has the impending doom feeling to it.
I dont want to take both, nor the amount that i was taking before the psych nurse dropped me cold turkey on pretty much everything. and didn't care, but i already have a post up on this board about that in particular.
I'm just wondering which of the two and what would be the best lowest dose that could work? or that i should try to start with, and how long should i give it before i decide it's not working? and take another bit of it?

I have them both in 0.5mg pills. so i can even cut those in half or fours or something to make whatever dose amount that would make. lol!!
help pleeeezze!!! *spazing out, and in a constant panic attack and can't take it no more*

one is probably just as good as the other. depends which one you respond best to. it took me two months to wean off of klonopin after taking .5 mg tabs once a day for a year. i first cut them in 3/4 for a week and then 1/2 and then 1/4, then every other day until i was finally off them and even then i got the sweats and felt woozy. so it may be good to start with your prescribed dose until you stabilize and then slowly work your way down. it doesnt make sense that your nurse would cold turkey you off so many meds, especially off that much benzos. your best bet is to contact your doc and let them know that you are going thru withdrawals and ask their advice on what to do.

They are very similar. I prefered klonopin myself but xanax is not as harsh but more addictive. Since you were on both perhaps the best thing to do would to take a low dose of both, then taper off one, then taper off the other.

If you are going to go back on a benzo for withdrawal symptoms, then of the two, I would pick klonopin. There is less rebound anxiety from this med than xanax. It doesn't work as quickly, but it isn't cleared as quickly either.

I don't know the story but it's usually not a good idea to just stop the benzos cold turkey. Aren't you just freaking out?

Yeah, i have-had a quack for new psych nurse i saw on friday.
She dropped me cold turkey all at the same time on cymbalta, xanax, hydromorphone, klonopin.
And i tried calling today, to try and talk some sense in her, and that was a MISTAKE.
I now have discountuation and cold turkeying EVERYTHING but one med... which is adhd stimulant med that she up'd before the weekend. This "Everything" includes even more meds that deal with my physical health problems such as crohn's, and the sorts (hydromorphone was for crohn's pain too which she- oy i dont even wanna get started... lol..

But thanks everyone again!
I dont think I have enough xanax's to taper off of, and I think i'll go with taking half a klonapin or something...
these panic attacks i've never experienced before.. I've had serious anxiety but nothing like this before. and they come on, and dont leave. They come on for no reason, then stay there no matter what calming stuff I do, or try, then i gets to where i get so panic'd that I get nauseaed and then I can't eat cause of that, and MANY other factors.. but..

But i'm trying hard to keep it all together....
